I liked using the scholaranium. it is a good testing platform which gives actionable insights to the user. It has a dashboard which tells the user his/her ability and accuracy level in each section as well as sub topic within a section. User has option to take Verbal ability quizzes to assess which areas he/she is weak at. Based on this analysis he can study the course content and then take custom quizzes to improve on weak areas. This methodical approach leads to measurable score improvement.
In addition I would like to highlight that the course content is interactive and fun to do. it has pre and post assessment quizzes. You can skip the course content if you are confident of your ability for a particular topic. There is another feature I liked. The video modules have a menu option for easy navigation. For many of the topics I could use this feature and directly go to summary slide to quickly grasp concepts due to lack of time.
I also liked the GMAT score planner. This allows user to provide his target score and current abilities in quant and verbal. Based on this, the planner suggests how much we need to score in both quant and verbal to achieve our target score. It goes one level deeper and tells us what ability/skill we need to develop in sc, cr and rc as well. This guides us on how much time we need to invest in each section. Overall, very useful course for methodically tracking progress and improving concepts.
I have always been dreaded by verbal section of the GMAT as most other non-native speakers do. To begin with my preparation I took an official GMAT PREP mock and ended up with V23. I knew this would happen as verbal has been my weak area. I started my preparation by going through MGMAT Strategy guides and after going through all the guides I knew all the rules and have memorized them. I thought I was all ready and gave the second MOCK and scored V22. I was devastated and felt that I am never going to crack verbal and left the hope of achieving a 700 score.
However, I came across GMAT club forum then and I found many positive reviews about e-GMATs course. I was initially skeptical about the reviews and thought its not going to help me anyways and I will just be losing some amount of money buying the course.
However, I thought I will give it a try and that's the best thing that I did as part of my preparation. Although, the MGMAT guides also covered most of the things, going through the e-GMAT content was very easy. The terminology used is plain and simple.
I would specially like to emphasize on SC, the meaning approach has changed the way I choose an answer and how non-underlined portion also plays an important role in determining the answer. I learned that its mandatory to read the entire SC sentence irrespective of the underlined section to be able to comprehend and answer the questions correctly. Especially the modifiers section of SC have been explained in great detail which was very tough for me initially.
CR Pre-thinking has similarly played an amazing role in being able to select answers without any ambiguity.
The RC 7 strategies when applied have given great results.
All in all I would say anyone who is facing issues tackling verbal can undoubtedly take up e-GMAT course and if you follow the approach taught by them, you can see a drastic improvement in your verbal score.
I am going to take my GMAT on FEB 10 and am happy that I took the e-GMAT course and would love to share my success story after I crack the GMAT.
Happy Learning and All the Best!!
I’ve been using e-GMAT’s Quant Live Prep for ~3 months now and have seen a drastic improvement in my accuracy (from 60 to 80%). Their coveted scholaranium, remains the best tool available in the market to track your performance. It is hands down the sole reason why I recommend e-gmat to almost everyone who’s starting their gmat journey. I’ve reached out to Payal multiple times for both verbal and math(more often than not) for strategy rather than concept (which are anyway very well explained through videos) and her advice at each point has helped me refine my strategy. Fingers crossed for D-day and best of luck to those who’re sailing in the same boat.
I am writing to share my recent experience with GMAT. I have been trying to do well in GMAT for a long time. Quant is my weakest side in GMAT. In my first attempt in August 2014, I scored Q39 in quant. After that I didn’t get back to GMAT for a long time. On August 2017, I decided to take the test again. I started my preparation and buy a online prep course from EGMAT. On December 2017, I took the test and scored Q47 in quant. I am very happy and thankful to EGMAT for helping me in improving my quant score. There are few things which helped me a lot.
• Systematic Approach: EGMAT has a systematic approach to teach the concepts, to provide basic application question and then to provide advance practice question. This helped to learn and improve my accuracy. The audio-visual concept files also let me remember the important theories.
• Similar to Official questions: In my first attempt, I practiced a lot of unofficial question which let my ability down. However, EGMAT’s practice questions are similar to the official GMAT questions which helped me to get more familiar with the concepts that GMAT actually tests.
• Advance Topics: In GMAT, Permutation & Combinations, Probabilities and Sets problems are advance topics. I had really a poor understanding in those areas. EGMAT laid out those concepts in a very nice way so that anyone can learn them easily. I saw a lot of improvements in those advance topics after taking the course.
• Scholaranium: Scholaranium is a tool an EGMAT where you can take practice tests in a timed environment. In addition, it also gives the detail analytics about each test. It helped me in different ways. First of all, it helped to prepare myself in an exam environment. I made sure that I could answer the question within the time. Moreover, it also helped me to look at the areas where I needed improvement. In addition, it also helped me to prepare myself to take the Mock properly so that I didn’t get surprised after taking the Mock.
These are the main areas where I got help from EGMAT course. I am going to take the test one more time and planning to set a target of Q49 this time. I will highly suggest to people who are struggling with quant to take the EGMAT quant course and see the difference in their performance.
The whole experience of learning for the Verbal Segment with E-Gmat was very good. Shraddha's classes were par excellence.
She took the extra time to ensure all concepts were clearly understood by all the attendees. Post the classes, her explanations to any unresolved query were also very good.
The other segments of the Verbal Prep are very good and do help in the overall preparation for the GMAT.
Format of Scholaranium also helps to keep a track of your improvement as the course progress.
After going through the live classes, I could grasp the concepts of SC much faster. I found at myself at ease particularly in Bold Faced Questions.
Also, the methodology with regards to understanding a CR question is far superior to that followed in various guides,
Kudos to the team at E-GMAT for creating such a tool.
Verbal Online by e-GMAT is the best online course especially for non-natives. The course material is excellent & has a unique approach to cracking the verbal section. The course teaches you to crack the verbal using a well-defined and easy process. This is the key differentiator over other courses. CR course with emphasis on logical structure, pre-thinking and techniques like ABC test, negation test, variance test is very strategic & helped me to tackle most difficult CR passages with ease & save a lot of time too. The 3-step process in SC is an eye-opener. Understanding the meaning of the sentence & applying the steps in the right way I was able to reduce the time I take to solve each SC question. The RC section helps you to break down any complex passage and solve them with ease. I even upgraded to a Verbal Live Prep after taking this course. I would highly recommend e-GMAT to anyone who wants to crack the verbal section in GMAT.
Hi ,
I have enrolled in e-gmat study plan after an unsuccessful stint at GMAT exam in 2017 . I used the standard Manhattan and OG for the prep , but somehow i couldn't figure out the right way to grasp and internalize the concepts .
I heard about e-gmat from the forums and the feedback people gave about it on the meaning based approach and its interactive course . I am not done with GMAT yet but i already love the course work skeleton which was built up . Its video based teaching approach some how attracted me and i was able to grasp concepts with ease , the way payal explains each concept also has been very helpful . Hopefully , this time I will close with a good Verbal score .
I am yet to appear for my GMAT, but the resources of E-GMAT are very comprehensive and up to date.
The focus of the course never shifts away from the core understanding of the concepts which is the most important part in the preparation. The design of the course takes care of the understanding and the sequence you should follow for your preparation and you can trust it and follow it without worrying about a separate plan for your prep. Make sure you never miss out on the detailed explanations even when you answer the choice correctly as doing this will make sure you take best possible approach.
The free resources and webinars are a plus which give you a snapshot of their live programs. Due to time and other constraints I would highly recommend it to fellow colleagues who want to max their score in the best way possible.
Best of luck to anyone who finds this review helpful.
I am really very grateful to the e-GMAT team in coming up with such a comprehensive program for every section of the GMAT exam. I had tried every prep book one could find in the market -kaplan,manhattan ,veritas etc and was still struggling to improve my score beyond V36 and Q48. I felt though i had hit a wall and could not break it. My best friend had taken this course and got a 730 in his GMAT and that's how i came to know about e-GMAT and my colleague scored a 740 after studying from e-GMAT for just a month. So I thought that since i have tried so many preps,i might as well give this a shot. I had no idea what a amazing ride i would be having for the next 2 months exploring each and every nook and corner of this thorough program. I had initially had bought only the Verbal live course but within a week i bought the rest of the courses as well. I feel e-GMAT gave me hope , and i am sure there are thousand of students like me out there. For students like me hard work is not a problem but finding proper guidance is. While watching each and every course video on e-GMAT, solving the problems given in the course list and sticking to a plan creating by e-GMAT i felt my standard improve slowly but surely. In fact i was actually surprised to see my I.R score improve as well after following e-GMAT's approach - this is something i did not even consider focusing on ! I would like to mention Shraddha ma'am especially for helping me out with S.C questions. After i gave the GMAT prep practice test i used to post the troublesome questions on the forum and she used to take time and answer each one of them patiently . In fact there was a time when she actually found a pattern in my mistakes that came as a surprise to me. From then I stared enjoying working on S.C as a result and always score in the 90% since then. Another aspect of e-GMAT i would like to point out is the Scholaranium. I am depended on this tool so much that i rarely touched the practice questions from Gmat prep. It is the BEST tool out there for GMAT preparations! My skills improved to such an extent that i started finding silly mistakes even in the correct answer option of the actual GMAT test prep tool - this is documented on e-
GMAT's form. I cannot thank Rajat and his team enough in giving hope to me.
Regards,
Gibran
The e-GMAT course has been one of the best resources to have for the GMAT preparation.
The verbal course explains the steps in details which are very useful to understand the GMAT question patterns & get habituated with the exam strategies.
The explanation to the questions are very useful & helps in examining the mistakes & correct them.
Provides a very well structured study plan with concepts and quizzes for each section. (This may be useful for anyone who lacks discipline)
It comes with free mock exams that can generate performance analytical reports.
The eGMAT course is so well explained that I helps me to clarify lot of my doubts in SC,CR and RC.
I will recommend each GMAT aspirant to enroll for this course and try to follow the approach taught here. This will definitely help you to improve your performance.
