Happy to help.
Got it, yes I think that does help a bit.
With a previous employer recommender (and really with any recommender) you can give them some bullet points to remind them of your key results and details of your work then. That will make it much easier on them and will ensure that they are highlighting relevant examples. But if you feel a client will know you well and be enthusiastic to recommend you, that is a great option too. It's not a must have for the previous employer, so I think you can move forward with the client.

Thanks for that very thoughtful and helpful response, Kate.
If it helps (and I should've asked in my previous post), my number of employers is 3 but my number of jobs is 2 (same role but in very different parts of the same industry). Not sure if this makes a difference.
I love your point of having one of the recommendations come from my previous employer. I have someone in mind, but I am concerned that this person might've forgotten everything but the more general highlights of my career. Thus, I was leaning more towards a recommendation from one of my current clients who can speak with more detail and can provide a perspective my supervisor cannot.
In your opinion, will it be more valuable for me to ask for that 2nd rec from my previous employer anyways, or should I go forward with a recommendation from one of my current clients, given this particular part of my background?
