"A"
Parallelism in A is concise and is of the form "subject does something just as other subject does"
in B and C it is of the form ""subject does something just as does another subject". Not in the form Noun Verb Noun just as Noun Verb" and hence breaking parellelism.
D and E change the meaning by saying it works just as well as does other thing. The original sentence says "halts" which means "stops". So it should not be changed.
Consider Kudos if I am correct.. That shall motivate me..
