Hello,
Thanks for agreeing to do this!
- Kelley is known to be a great marketing school. How exactly is it so? How have the career opportunities been like for int'l students interested in Marketing
- How is the larger IU brand perceived?
- What kind of activities do students pursue outside of classes around Bloomington? Thanks!
I'll address your questions below:
-Our marketing program is very strong here, and Kelley has built a reputation of being a great marketing school. There are two different tracks to take - business marketing (B2B) or consumer marketing (B2C) - although there can be crossover between the two. Our marketing academies really set us apart, where we gain experiential learning experiences, which allow us to bridge the gap between what we learn in the classroom and the real business world. We have great faculty that have some amazing connections, which are passed down to us first hand. As to int'l students, it really depends on the industry you want to pursue. For example, brand management in the CPG industry may be hard to tap into for int'l students, however marketing within the tech industry (such as product management) may be easier.
-IU has a great reputation, and specifically the Kelley brand - we are one of the largest alumni networks.
-As mentioned in my post above, there are numerous activities to participate in outside of the classroom. Great restaurant/bar scene, great musical performances, plays, museums, outdoor opportunities, etc. Bloomington has been an excellent city so far, and I'm glad I made the decision to come to Bloomington!
