Hi,
GRE - 308 (Q155 V153) taken without preperation few months back. Next attempt on 24th July. Target score - 318-320.
UG GPA - 7.65/10 (B.Tech in ECE from West Bengal University of Technology)
10th - 81
12th - 71
Work Ex - 3 Yrs 9 months as of today, by 2022 August will have 4years 10months of experience
Company: Cognizant Technology Solutions
Role: Senior Developer
Responsibilities: I work as a Mainframe Developer for an US based Insurance company, in the team whichs aupports their Reinsurance product. It’s a client facing role and basic tasks involve understanding the business requirements and providing them with feasible solutions. Received promotion at the earliest stage possible. And also have multiple recognitions from senior management in the past few years.
Extra Curricular:
1) At college level, I was a Treasurer for Society of Photo-optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE), which had a club in our college. It’s an international organisation, and under it’s banner, I have hosted multiple seminars on behalf of my college.
2) Was part of a 4 member team whose undergraduate research paper was selected for poster presentation in a SPIE conference at Las Vegas, Nevada. But, only two member went ro present, and I was not one of them.
3) I am part of a small NGO called Oisitic which works for the children and also have a small orphanage.
4) At office also, I have led a team of 25 people during a creative cultural completion which was held throughout all Cognizant offices in Kolkata.

Target Schools: WP Carey, Simon, Foster
Post MBA Goal: To go into Tech, preferably Product Management

P.s. I had applied in 3rd round to Katz and got accepted too for 2021 intake, but scholarship was too less, hence eyeing first round for next intake and probably with a better score.

Query: What are my chances in the above schools and also any othter suggestions? I will be depentding on scholarship to a great extent.

Carey and Simon - you may need a 325. Foster - a 328. Witha. 320, you may need to look at T40. Katz would have been good - maybe they’ll be able to offer a better scholarship this time?

Replying to Sandhya

Sandhya has an interesting profile. LBS, Oxford, Cambridge, and Warwick should be possible witha. 720. Atleast a 700, and we have a fighting chance. I will need to understand your work experience in a bit more detail though, to understand the links between your current work, and your post-MBA goals. If you are looking at the US, and have a 720, you can target T20 schools.

ISB is always a favourite.

Yes hopefully they will, and how do you rate Katz? And any Candian schools you could suggest with 318-320 GRE?

replying to Mayukh: Canadian schools are becoming competitive. Witha. 320, you may look outside the top 5 - 7 - that is outside of Rotman, Smith, Ivery, McGill, Schulich and Sauder. You may qualify for Schulich Hyderabad, and complete your degree in Toronto.

AK28 - we will need to get into some depth, to understand the strength of your profile. A 750 is definitely sufficient fro LBS and Columbia - but good work experience is necessary as well.

at Mayukh - kudos will be appreciated!

:)

waiting for the next message - come on folks. Where is the energy?
