Here are the Essay Questions for Desautels:-
1. Describe a situation where you failed to achieve an objective, and what you learned from it. (Max 500 words)
2. Describe an experience where, working in a team as a member or leader, you successfully managed to deal with a challenge posed by the diversity of the group. (500 words)
3. As concisely as possible, please explain why you intend on pursuing your MBA studies at this time and how will the Desautels MBA program help you in achieving your professional goals. (Maximum 500 words)

Plus Two Recommendations.

Hi thanx for sharing the essay topics. I hope there is no change in essay topics for this deadline. Another thing I want to know is: Does McGill like most canadian schools also asks for video essays?

No changes to the essay topics and no video essays. All the best.

If your degree says that the instructions were in English, then no I guess. Else you may have to get an affidavit from the university stating the same.
This is what the website says : "In addition, applicants who completed their undergrad degree in an university where the language of instruction was not in English are required to complete the TOEFL or IELTS. "

Strongly against working off campus. There are not many school-related opportunities available to MBA students. And if you want to be waiting tables....might as well spend that time to study harder or network more so you get a bigger paycheck when you graduate. If you can find a work/study opportunity with the faculties then by all means do it. Spend your time wisely is what I want to say I guess.

Hmm. Thanks for your valuable inputs! I'll still reiterate one of my questions - Except for first semester which is considered to be packed, do students get enough time to even think about a work study opportunity?

I guess it boils down to an individual's priorities and circumstances.

I submitted my application on 8th of Dec 2015 and got an interview call for 8th of Jan 2016. It was good and my interviewee was Marie-Eve Roy. Took about 30 to 40 minutes. Had a friendly conversation and clear and crisp answers to all her questions. She said the reply would be in 1 or 2 weeks. My profile is:

Undergrad: From Pune, India with First Class
Work Ex: 2+
GMAT: 670
IELTS: 8.0

Can anyone suggest what are my chances of getting a call letter from them ? And how long does it take to get a reply ?

Normally how much time does it take for the application review to be completed. I completed the checklist on 14 jan. When can I expect to hear something?

Completed all the components of my application on 12th of January, had have received a confirmation only yesterday that it is complete and has been picked up for review. I wish they don't take 2 more weeks to invite me for an interview.

Thank you Harsit, for the boost. Just that I'd like to see if it turns out good before I commit to Schulich. :)

Hello,
I submitted my application on the 14th of Jan. But unlike some of you'll, I never got a mail stating that my file had been picked up for review. Just got a mail yesterday about an interview scheduled for the 25th of Jan. Let's see how it goes.
