Should I be expecting no scholarship at this point? All I received was an admissions email. No phone call. No scholarship email.

Seems kind of silly if it doesn't come through. Don't want to sound brash but if I get an admit from Wharton w/o scholarship, it won't take much more than milliseconds to decide.

Just sayin'.

I'm in at Goizueta. Got the email around 9:30 am this morning. Application status change is up on site as well. For those of you who applied through the Consortium like I did, scholarship decisions will not be released until March/April.

This shouldn't be right. I know that individual schools can give scholarships prior to the official "Consortium Fellowship" selection dates early next year. It is common among the Consortium schools to send out scholarships at admission and then bump it up if you get the fellowship. I've even heard that if the school is your #1 pick then they will likely either offer the fellowship with admission or not offer it at all.

Anyway you look at it, I don't believe this is right and if it is right then it makes no sense. Lots of Consortium applicants are applying to schools outside the network (albeit, "reach schools") and those schools will not hesitate in awarding scholarships right at admission, if merited.

Again, take my situation. If I get word from Chicago or Wharton in the next two weeks that I got admitted with scholarship, it gives them an edge over a school that only admitted me and is keeping me in limbo about a scholarship. Puts them in a worse situation with regard to selection, especially amongst more competitive candidates.

This was communicated to me as well so it's right Haha For me personally, my application strategy centered around the March fellowship decision time frame. It's not uncommon for Consortium schools to not release fellowship decisions until March so (when reasonable) I applied to my non-Consortium schools for their rounds that accommodated that timeline. Everyone's situation is different and I think we've all gone through the different scenarios within our heads :-)

We are using different words and, therefore, concepts. There is a difference between "fellowship" and "scholarship." If you look at the Consortium thread last year you will notice an applicant who applied to Ross through The Consortium and received a partial scholarship offer at admission. He then received a full-ride fellowship later on.

My point and inquiry is: if you theoretically put Emory at the bottom of your Consortium list, then should you not expect some kind of partial scholarship? Can they only offer a partial scholarship during the fellowship draft?

Got a phone call from adcom who interviewed me 30mins ago restating my admission and also announcing I've received the Consortium fellowship.

So yes, scholarship awards are being handed out for regular and consortium applicant. I will be matriculating at Goizueta, congrats to all admits and best of luck for those working thru this process

Congratulations on the fellowship! Did you have Emory listed as #1 for your ranking?

I see! You may want to reach out to Goizueta specifically for that answer. I learned of Goizueta's approach for Consortium students that don't rank #1 at an event I attended. But every school operates differently. I know Wisconsin does something similar to the Ross scenario you mentioned. I didn't have Emory as my #1 so I fully anticipated not having the full picture (for them and my other schools) until March. Luckily notifications for my remaining non-Consortium school fall around the same time frame. Let the waiting game begin!

Just got the scholarship call!!! I've been offered a 60% scholarship to Goizueta.

For all who are curious, the timeline of the day was:
9:54 AM Acceptance Email
11:04 AM Email saying I am being offered a scholarship
3:47 PM Phone call to share the scholarship details, including the amount of the scholarship

Hi All,

I'm a round 2 hopeful (Nov. 13th application deadline) for the 1 year program. Does anyone know when decisions are supposed to go out for interviews? I thought I had heard or seen on this chain that they were planned to go out today, so am anxiously awaiting some type of communication.

Thanks!
