Any idea how many people end up on the waitlist at Fuqua every year?

"Not that many" is what I have heard. Did you get waitlisted after Early Action or after Round 1?
Did you interview at Fuqua already? Another thing I heard via an information session is that Fuqua typically does want to interview people on the WL.

I was put on the waitlist without interview in the Early Action Round. I was invited to interview along with Round 1 applicants.
However, I didn't get a status update email on R1 decision date. This confused me a lot as I stayed up all night hoping for either an accept or a reject. I even called the admissions office helpline for clarification, but they couldn't tell me anything.

After agonizing over the weekend, I went back and read all the emails and links that Fuqua had shared. Finally got to the relevant information:
"On the decision release date for each round, you will be informed if you are admitted, and if not, your status will remain waitlisted. As such, please be sure to keep us informed of any changes in your contact information."

So seems like Fuqua doesn't deny anyone directly from the waitlist.

Hello,

Just wanted to check if alumni/ current students can send in support emails as recommendations or do they have to mandatorily fill in the online forms?

What is the mail like for WL ? I applied in R2 and got this mail today -"We regret to inform you that you have not been invited to interview; please note that this is not a final decision on your application. The interview invitation process is highly selective. It is possible that you would be invited to interview at a later stage. If your interview status should change, our office will notify you directly."

Is this there standard template for rejection or is this a WL?

Anyone wanna have discussions on how to update our candidacy? I reached out to a student ambassador and she suggested me be on the lookout for an email from admissions on the upcoming fuqua waitlist webinar. They will basically talk through areas to strengthen in your application via bi-weekly waitlist status updates; ranging from any recent responsibilities you’ve taken on at work, thinking about retaking the GMAT or supplementing your GMAT with additional courses to show your improvement in quant or verbal (whichever pulled down your score), etc.

She herself found the webinar to be very helpful as I thought through her status updates.

Good idea to discuss )
I honestly don’t understand what I can improve in couple of months except Gmat.. Get a promotion or super project looks impossible.
With my Gmat of 740 I don’t think that score improvement is a reasonable move

sorry for asking, but are you from an overly represented pool? while i know gmat is the most obvious but the hardest since you already have a 740, if yes, perhaps you can focus on 3 things:
(i) re-iterate genuine commitment through student support letters etc.
(ii) impacts/accomplishments at works
(iii) progress on your goal and how fuqua really can push it further

I believe mba admission is a number game, it all also depends on luck. After all the effort put, we may have to let the universe guide us.

good to hear that u from russia and surely its not overrepresented. perhaps above all, showing commitment is all what it takes. guess early admit and R1 have a lot of competitive profiles, thats all. bit unlucky applying in later rounds.

Hello everyone!

I am also on the waitlist after round 1 with interview. I was really hoping to get an acceptance call for round 2 but that didn't happen unfortunately. Seems like the pool is really competitive this year. Good luck to everyone on the waitlist!
