Just posting a conversation from the Haas chat room.

User1: Indian here. Just got an interview invite. However, all interview slots are full till 15th and I don’t want to give the Kira talent recorded interview? I don’t want to delay as my chances will reduce and I also don’t want to give a recorded interview because it just feels weird and I don’t know how I will perform. Any suggestions?

User2: If you don’t have a live interview slot, you will have to do the pre-recorded interview. You don’t really have a choice. You can email the Adcom asking if they’re going to open more slots. I know folks that have gotten in who did the pre-recorded interview, so it’s not a bad thing.

User1: Thanks. I will try to prepare for the pre-recorded one. Although seems a little unfair to me. I’d look at it more positively. Getting an invite with pre-recorded interview is better than not getting an invite at all

Is the pre-recorded interview similar to the KIRA interviews that a lot of other schools do?

Seems like it based on my research. I haven't done the pre-recorded interview myself though. Maybe someone who has in Round 1 can pitch in. Hope this helps!

Got it behappy24 I am just putting the following KIRA resources here anyway just in case if they can be of help to someone who is preparing for the pre-recorded interview.

Can you tell us if the pre-recorded interview is on the KIRA platform itself or you just need to record videos and then upload them?

The entire interview is on the KIRA platform. It is the same as any other video question requirements of other colleges using the KIRA platform.

Hi Everyone,

I got to hear from GoCap19 that Berkeley Haas is waiving the GRE/GMAT requirement for UC Berkeley undergrads and alumni for 2021 intake. More details are at the following link https://gmatclub.com/forum/haas-program ... 23778.html

I read through the post and I don't get the logic of what Haas is trying to do here. I mean they have a small batch size to fill. Plus with deferrals from last year and high application numbers, they must already have a lot of well qualified applicants. Then why this? Does this indicate that they are not happy with Round 2 applicants and are going to Waitlist most of them? It's hard to believe this is the case. It's just so strange.

On the flip side, for Berkeley students/alumni this is a no brainer. They have nothing to lose.

If anyone has any insights, do share!

Haas wants to bring in more double Bears (BS + MBA at Cal) to Haas and this has nothing to do with the volume of other applications. They did this for the class of '22 and it worked out great. As a matter of fact, this program has been in the works since at least 2019 (considering our double Bears did presentations for undergrads) and was in effect since last spring.

Hi everyone,

What’s the deadline for the prerecorded interview for those on R2 waitlist?

ArajDalal Were you waitlisted in Round 1 or Round 2? From the decision tracker, I don’t see anyone who got moved off the waitlist. Is there anyone here who got waitlisted in Round 1 and heard back with Round 2 decisions?
