Hi Guys,

Kindly review my profile and suggest if it's suitable for IIMA-PGPX / IIMB-EPGP /IIMC-PGPEX (class of 2018 aspirant)

1) I will have 11+ years of experience in 2018, with total experience in leading semiconductor companies in the capacity of R&D Project Leader (leading small teams of 5-6 engineers). Received 2-3 spot/PAT awards. No international experience, however had worked closely with international teams.
2) Part-Time MBA from IIM Lucknow, Noida Campus in 2015 called Working Managers Program (WMP) with a CGPA of 7.2/10 (2013-2015).
3) Published 2 papers during my MBA, 1st on Business Strategy in a CII conference and 2nd is a project work on Digital Marketing which has been included as a case study in a textbook by IIML Prof, published by Oxford University Press.
4) Average academic records: B.Tech (private college of UP 71%), XII (66%), X(73%).
5) Planning to take GMAT in July 2017.
6) Extra-curricular: [a] Volunteered for fund raising in school (class 7/8) for HelpAge India and Cancer Aid Society. [b] Active participation in sports tournaments in school and college. [c] Organised Tech-fest in college [d] Editor of college magazine etc.. However, i don't have proofs/certificates for most of these initiatives.

Also, pls suggest if my part-time MBA from IIML can be detrimental in my candidature? Can I leverage on it or Adcom can grill me ?

Thanks & regards,

Yash

Hello All,

Need profile evaluation here.

GMAT: 700 (Q49 V35)
B.tech : 72% (Mechanical Engineer)
12th : 85%
10th : 85%

Work Experience: Total 5 years in Automotive R&D (Bosch Ltd)
-Worked on emissions reduction technology and key development member for BS-VI technologies in India.
-Got a promotion after about 2.5 years of experience.
-Multiple leadership roles undertaken.

NGO work: Average. (HelpAge India, Art of Living etc)

Extra Curricular:
- Nonfiction author for a local magazine.
- Event Organizer for Art of Living
- Executed a flash mob on company campus

Why MBA?
Need to transition from product development to product management. Need to combine rich technical experience with sound business knowledge to reach product manager role.

How should i rate my profile for IIM C PGPEX? (Below Average, Average, Competitive, Strong)?
Is 5 years of experience low for being competitive for IIMC? Or other components of profile make up for it?

Thanks and Regards
Ashish

Hello current & future MBAs

Thank you for your time in advanced.

First Let me introduce myself.

I am a Mechanical Engineer with 8.5 years experience in Product Design. (Design of metro Trains & high speed trains )
Currently I am working in UK for Bombardier Transport, Derby as a Work Package Leader for the East Anglia train design team.
Professionally, I have taken up some challenging jobs & have some significant professional achievements (Bagged a multi million dollar project last year for QUEST global, Crucial in developing talent pool in rail domain for QUEST Global, Have been awarded more than a dozen times in my career for performance, Experience of handling client from 5 different nationalities, Worked from client locations for more than 4 years of my career including 1+ years in UK & France)

I have a below average academic background.10th (83%), 12th (49%) & Btech (63%).
I have a GMAT score of 690 (Q50, V33, IR6, AWA 5).
Considering my poor academic background, I am planning to retake GMAT in order to give myself a fighting chance. But due to work pressure I am unable to devote time for GMAT prep.

Any Data or information on these below questions will be immensely helpful to me in order to get a clarity.
I need an insight on how much a below average academic background such as mine can hamper my chances at IIMA,B & C?
What is the acceptance rate at these schools?
Considering my poor academic background, is a GMAT score of 750+ is must for me or do I have a fair chance even with 690?

Regards

Hey arindam!
You can take the GMAT on 25th Oct and apply with the unofficial GMAT score also. Just remember to send the recommendation links to your referees before 25th Oct.

Hi Sir ,

With respect to the recommendation link , is it necessary for the referees to submit their reference letters by the deadline ?

Please guide .
