Admitted!!! Mohali Campus :-D

More sweeter because had to miss an interview schedule in Mohali on 6th as i was hospitalized. ISB was kind enough to reschedule the interview. Had a "coughing and barely speaking but confident" 20 minutes conversation with the panel.

Amazing Valentine's Day's Gift!! All the best to others who got admitted and also those preparing for the next cycle.

Hi Everyone,

I would first like to congratulate all those who were admitted to ISB CO 2015 and wish all the best to those on the waitlist or those planning to reapply next year.

I was also admitted to ISB in R2 and I am currently in a dilemna. Unfortunately, due to certain unforseen personal circumstances it will be difficult for me to join ISB this year but I am very keen on joining ISB next year. Can anyone here throw some light on how the ISB deferal process works? I am ready to pay them the deposit, after which will I be able to defer to next year? Anyone who has done it in the past or knows someone who has done it, please do advice. Many thanks for the help in advance.

Anybody knows when the batch's going to start? I heard April 17-18 as an unconfirmed date - need to plan my office resignation date.

Hi Folks,
I have been offered an admission, but recently I started a very interesting job and I want to see my present job will unfold. If I decline the offer this year and apply again, will that be seen in negative light.
Cheers,

Congrats to all the admitted people. Party hard. You people deserve it.
For the wait listed people, just hold on tight, the ordeal will end soon :)

For the people who were dinged, dont loose hope is the moral of the story. I was also on the same boat last year. It's hard very hard to digest, but we need to move on, may be to some other school or gear up for another year and present such a strong case that no one can deny us a seat in our dream college.

Please do not forget to update the status in your profile as it will help us a lot.

Hi,

Congrats to all the Junta who are going to ISB this year!

For those of you who are in Chennai, or are willing to come down to Chennai, I have an interesting offer.

I work for a top tier management consulting firm, and we're interested in taking an intern on a project out of Chennai.

I thought this may be an interesting opportunity for you all because it will give you the opportunity to do an internship at a consulting firm(something I heard you don't have because ISB is a 1 year program) and get a first hand view of how these firms work/feel on the inside.

The internship will be paid, for a period of 6-8 weeks, will include all work related expenses (but no acco) and starts as soon as you are willing to take it up.

If anyone's interested and wants to know more, please get in touch with me at +91 9619887768 or pprashant91[at]gmail[dot]com.

Regards,
Prashant

FROM ISB Admissions Blog: Young Leaders Programme
We completed the fourth and final Learning Weekend for the first batch of the Young Leaders Programme students at Mohali in mid February. We are ready to welcome these students to the regular PGP in April this year. Over the last two years we have mentored the students, given them inputs on critical thinking, team building, building consensus, value creation/value capture etc in addition to giving them inputs on various career choices they can make. We do hope they can use these inputs to chalk out a plan of action while they are at ISB for the next one year and make a flying start to their career thereon.

The key aspects of YLP are the Learning Weekends that include leadership & knowledge sessions with the renowned faculty of ISB and industry leaders. These sessions include structured learning that focus on the fundamentals of management education along with building hard and soft skills. All this, along with mentorship from senior ISB officials & alumni enhances the professional experience of the student in those two years. YLP also provides an opportunity to connect with high-end achievers, great minds, hence, building a network for life. To top it, there is a scholarship of INR 1 lakh for every YLP student. Finally, the YLP ends with the student joining the PGP at ISB with a head-start to his career, enhanced work experience and an edge over his/her peers.

As we have been doing in the past we visited India’s top colleges from various disciplines including the IITs, BITS, HR College, Lady Sriram College of Commerce, et al in order to interact with the prospective applicants. The response as usual has been very enthusiastic.

To be eligible for admission into YLP, the candidate must be in his pre-final year of graduation in any discipline. The selection process is a three-stage one which consists of profile evaluation, analysis of academic and analytical skills, GMAT score, written essays, video presentation and personal interviews. Excellence at every stage is a must to make the cut. The best of the best are the ones who get chosen for YLP.

So to sum it up, the youngsters who make it to this programme are, therefore, ideally positioned to transform into tomorrow’s exceptional business leaders. Because it really isn’t about where one comes from; it is about where one intends to go.

Applications are now open at https://ylpapp.isb.edu/user/Signup.aspx

Dinged after interview. Not sure why - maybe I didn't express enough interest in the program? Luckily I wasn't planning on attending but never acted that way. I had prepared a lot for it and was seriously considering it. So it hurt. Anyways best to all. Great program.

Tough Luck mate!.. that happens.. even i was planning to withdraw the application however, i think i gave a descent interview.and hoped for an admit .. As you know, Indian Alums catch pretty quickly. My interview went like i was challenged given my goals and what i want to do .. one of the panel member did not look so convinced ! .. i think he got me there..
It actually felt like an interview to check whether you are bluffing or you really want to belong here!, and surprisingly they focused on what i knew rather than how i expressed !!( much different than US interviews!... As we usually are detail oriented !).. so the panel got me there.. i was dinged as well.

My two cents for future applicants and re applicants . take the interview seriously. and be prepared to answer anything about your resume and work.. and may be even some case studies and puzzles..

However, i was expecting an admit considering my unusual background but still Interview i think played a major role..

ISB gives feedback rite!.. I think i need to ask for it, any of you guys have any idea ?
