Hi everyone, I applied in the third round (Deadline this past Wednesday April 8th).
I just finished my video essay and received an e-mail inviting me to interview! The admissions team reviewed very fast my application, wonderful news!
Did this happen with anybody else as well?

Regards,

The interview for Kellogg is mandatory. Instant request for interview has no impact on your application for Kellogg.

Just got the call from admissions! No email or portal update just yet. Sounds like they wanted to send some offers out before the virtual Days at Kellogg events kicking off next week. [#permalink]

Just got a call from the admissions office that a spot opened up, and they felt that I would be a perfect fit. This is interesting seeing as I sent them a note on 4/7 withdrawing myself from the waitlist, as I decided to move forward with HBS. They said that they "wanted to make sure I wasn't just pulling out because I didn't want to wait." I will also note that I didn't submit any additional information since being put on the waitlist. It actually stung more saying no than I thought it would; I really loved Kellogg!

Congratulations, Synchrony

I guess this means, now a spot is opened up for other waitlisted applicants.
Thanks! And yep. It sounds like they're starting to make decisions on the waitlist pretty early (only a couple weeks after R2 decision day), too.

Anyone know the schedule for virtual DAK next weekend? Just got off the waitlist and haven’t received official details yet. Not that I have plans anyways....

Similar thing happened to me, they sent an email asking to confirm my interest by April 7th or they would assume I've made other plans and take me off the waitlist. I got off the Booth waitlist several weeks earlier and decided to commit there so I didn't take any action prior to April 7th understanding they would take me off the waitlist. I stayed off email a bit the past few days and now find out I was admitted off the WL at Kellogg too? Not really sure what it means that they have done this on a few occasions. Shame because had this come a few weeks earlier it would have been a tough choice between the two.

Available to answer questions for anyone applying Round 3. Both of my MMM applicants were admitted, but headed to HBS.

looks like Kellogg will allow rejected candidates from R1 and R2 to appeal? And for waitlisted candidates to have their applications evaluated without test scores. With such a big class, do you guys think they are desperate enough to fill it?

Appears they are desperate. It looks like other schools are allowing test scores after submission, but they are the only ones allowing a full application without testing. Letting in previously rejected students is crazy!

Wish I hadn't already taken the GMAT, I coulda gotten 1000 hours back!

Where did you see they are allowing appeals?

Updates from Kellogg:

  • Requirement of GMAT/GRE/TOEFL/IELTS scores Waived for R3 (Full-Time MBA) applicants and Summer Quarter (EWMBA) applicants. You can send test scores if you have them already or decide to take online tests but that's no more mandatory.
  • (This was a shocker  ) Those who got denied or waitlisted in R1 & R2 can submit an appeal for application reconsideration. Instructions for how to do so will be released in the coming days.
  • Deadline updates:
    • For EWMBA applicants, the Summer Quarter deadline has been extended to May 4.
    • For Full-Time MBA applicants, the Round 3 extension to June 1 still stands.
  • For detailed information, please visit this blogpost https://blogs.kellogg.northwestern.edu/i ... re-waiver/

Don't quite understand as all the candidates on the Waitlists do have test scores because they're R1 and R2 apps
