Got an invite for interview. I have 2 options, skype or alumni in mumbai/delhi (I reside in bangalore) .
I really wanted to do in person, but i will have to travel during weekday for that. Do any of you guys think, me choosing skype over travelling within country for interview will look bad.?

I'm in the same boat as you. Working in Bangalore. Trying to decide whether to opt for skype or interview with alum in mumbai/delhi.

Hey guys, when I login to my application status page, it states, "We've received your application and are currently reviewing it". Does this mean they are reviewing it for ensuring receipt of all required application documents or is it being reviewed by the Admissions Committee?

I'm a bit uncertain as my application status still shows "incomplete" (on the right hand side of the Application Status page) saying that the 2 pending things are the GMAT and the TOEFL scores (both of which have been submitted i.e. Unofficial GMAT & Proof of MOI being English). Any one have an idea?

Hi Lanesrak,

If you have submitted your GMAT score very recently, it'll take a while. But if you have done that much earlier, check if your name (in the GIAC portal) matches exactly with that in your GMAT score report. I had a similar issue and had to mail them to get my name corrected in the GIAC status page.

Also, McCombs requires official GMAT report. Hope you have submitted one.

hey kr1zhna,

Thanks for your reply! I have submitted the official GMAT report and tbh not really fretting over them updating the GIAC status page, just wanted an idea as to whether my application is at the verification or review stage. Do you get a confirmation e-mail (like I have from some other schools) after all the app documents are verified and before the AdCom reviews the application? Thanks again!

7 days after submitting the app, I got a mail saying that there are missing items in my application. That's the only confirmation I got.

This confusion with GMAT score is very common among B-school applications. Why cant they just take our GMAT ID and match up the score. That would be very easy instead of trying to match names.

Can anyone clarify the decision process. After the interview, does the committee look at your application as a whole AGAIN before making a decision or is it, if you receive a good interview impression, you're in?

It was disheartening not to get an invite! I submitted on Dec 28th. Not really sure what part of my profile they did not like. Oh well ...

Ahh suck luck!!
Wrote an email to alumni in bangalore, but refused for interview as he is travelling abroad. And in the meanwhile all Mumbai/Delhi slots for in-person interview filled up. Had to schedule Skype..

Just finished my interview. Very informal like everyone has indicated.

Asked me short term, long term goals.
Go over resume.
Leadership example.
An example of dealing with conflict.
Backup plans if your concentration does not pan out.
An example of a problem arising that demanding unique solution
Why McCombs
Experience working with multicultural and funcitonal teams?
Experience dealing with managing someone?

Some more but I forgot.

Also, I had a question on the interview process that was answered.

I was curious if applications are completely done after the interview or are the reviewed again as a whole and the answer is the latter. The Adcom will look at your application packet as a whole and make a decision. So even if you have an amazing interview session, it doesn't guarantee entry.
