spoke to admissions and they said number is +10% vs last year

Be open, honest, and clear about what your goals are and then genuinely think about how the university is going to help get your there.

If you try to force things or shape it according to what you think they want, you’re going to come across as not genuine and it’ll be clear to them. Trust me.

Would advise you to show off the biceps if possible this was an important element for me

the results will be out tomorrow or day after? in round 1 i think it came on 12th Dec, whereas in the website it was mentioned 13th Dec

­Why did some people receive admits early? Is it because Oxford really wants them or is it just random? 

Well, because they attended the extra premium special people events for early decisions meeting held in December of course.

Jokes aside, like we said before here many times, the Adcom has tried to meet more frequently in some regions to lessen the workload of assessing everyone all at once.

Im gonna write more than necessary because people keep asking so maybe its best someone dives into it.

In sum: It could be for various reasons;

1) They have applied for early decisions. Sometimes, students are applying to multiple schools and are receiving offers earlier. Hence they ask the university to provide them early decision so that they know how to move forward with their choice of school. (note that when you get an offer, you have a deadline to accept it - so students put pressure on schools that have yet to respond)

2) Sometimes students apply for scholarships to multiple schools, and get offered different packages or types of financial aid. So, if I got financial aid from school X and im waiting to hear back from Y to see if they have a better financial aid package, I would ask for early decision. (again, time constraint, you don't want to lose something at hand and need to know your options)

3) You are super duper out of this world and they don't want to lose you, so they want to give you a place early

I may have missed some reasons, but this is whats on the top of my mind­

Also, some are interviewed by members of the Adcom, and some by external partners. The external partners cannot give a go/no-go decision. They have to submit their assessment to adcom, which will then take the decision as and when they meet
