What I can confidently say is that it's impossible to know their method for sending out invites, but what I DO know is that they will send out invites right up until the very last day of their stated invite range. My past clients have gotten invites on the final day, and there seems to have been no discernible pattern over the past eight years I've been doing this. Meaning it's not like a certain country, industry/role, etc. consistently got invites at the beginning, middle or end of the range. Trying to figure out that sort of thing is a sure recipe for crazy-making! : )

So really all I can assure everyone still waiting to hear is that it truly "ain't over till it's over." My clients who have gotten invites on the last day of the range were ultimately accepted, so it's not like they're sending out invites to the "best" people first or anything like that.

Hey Erika,

That's very insightful indeed!

Do you know (approx.) how much time one has for preparation after they got an invite?
Or, if you will, what is typically the latest date you can schedule interview on? : )

This process of waiting for a month just totally destroys all planing with it's uncertainty...

Thanks. Looks like you added msx invites to this. Last 3 livewire updates are msx.

erica: Thank you for your guidance here. If someone receives an interview invite for MSx, will that affect chances of getting an invite for mba?

My clients have interviewed with local alums around the world, and they ask applicants to complete those interviews within two weeks of receiving the invite and assigned alum. Most of my clients have had theirs done within a week. I did have one client a few years ago who got her invite on the last day and then had a very very hard time scheduling an alum interview (she was in China and flew to another city for it). It took a few different alum assignments and more than two weeks. They were very understanding and she is a second-year there now!

Hope that helps!

Sorry I do not have any experience with the MSx program so I can't really say.

Yeah.. i realized this too late... unfortunately didn't remove msx from the historical data set either... so to remove it from the actuals would skew the numbers.... my bad...

Stats through Wed 2/22 (day 17 of 31). Biggest day yet with 7 invites posted on livewire. Looks like mostly tech.

I'm afraid you're probably right... but I'm guessing there were also trolls in past cycles, so hopefully the trend comparison is still more or less fair.

Sigh. Is it time to give up on you, GSB? Only a week and a half more of invites and I'm still interviewless :(

I interviewed a few days ago. I've had better, wasn't bad, but wasnt amazing. Any idea on how much the interview matters? Losing sleep here.. Any guidance or tips appreciated.

Some people are of the opinion that they do not matter at all: http://poetsandquants.com/2014/10/07/ho ... terview/4/

What do you all think?

My experience was that the interviewer was very friendly, asked the expected questions with an air of "I have to do this part", and then we mostly had a conversation about why he really enjoyed his time at GSB and how it's helped him since. It had that common problem with all "easy" interviews: unless you said something absurd and get dinged, it felt pretty hard to really stand out.

yes...Stanford indeed points out that interview is not more important than any other part of the application.
