If it helps my husband is at Stanford and anecdotal evidence (e.g. people he has spoken to) suggests that many invites go out near the end of the process. His invite came in the last week and lots of his classmates said they had all but given up hope when they got the invite.

So my suggestion is to keep positive, and try not to think about it too much!

I'm starting to feel these are the ways schools keeping their yield high.
GSB keeps your anxiety high so those who are not serious about them will put deposit in other schools. If you wait till you get invited by GSB you are more likely to take the offer.
On a not so related note, Booth gives you an essay so you have to decide if you want to focus on other schools' interview or Booth essay. This way they weed out those who will reject their offer.
Just my 2 cents

Felt my stomach drop a few inches when I got a mail sometime back from the GSB- early rejection I suspected. Thankfully just one of their "Update for All Round 1 Applicants" outlining the process post application submission.

All the best folks.. over the next couple of weeks.. !!! Hope we all do awesomely well with our application outcomes.. :) :)

At least they mention that it’s for everyone on the first line of their email.

In a way, it is good that interviews come out in the middle of the night for me. No stress is induced as I need to go to sleep now hahaha. Good luck everyone!

Remember, there's heaps of days to go and many are supposed to come out near the end.

In the previous years, I think applicants from consulting got the first invites. Wonder if that'll be the case this year as well..

P.S. no update for me)

Admissions said in their most recent email it has to do 100% in the order your application was reviewed. Insinuating that it was 100% random.

Unless they have an algorithm that sorts applicants into buckets by experience type and reviews consultants first.

It's just marketing. A person who gets an interview invite might use GMATclub and might post that they received an invite instead of lurking. Consultants, however, will definitely post that their clients received an invite for marketing purposes.

Just because invites will be sent in the order applications are reviewed, that doesn't mean that applications are reviewed in a random order...

I think he meant consulting as a post-mba career. Not someone who used a consultant.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant people who work in consulting. From last year's posts, people who work in consulting seemed to get the first invites.

With a target of 1,000 invites for the whole season, let's assume that 50% applied for the first round and 50% of the invitations will be sent in the first round - 500 ivites for the round. If the invites are sent (I assume) in +- even invitations/day over 28 days period we have only like 20 invitations a day. Thus, I won't expect too many invite reports to be posted here at the moment.

Edit: well maybe just a bit more as I counted in weekends but still, that's not much at all. Tough tough process

Good luck to all!
