Re: Calling all Tuck (Dartmouth) Applicants: (2018 Intake) Class of 2020!! [#permalink]
Hello everyone - this is my first post on here!

Question: Do we have to answer the "class rank" question in the college education question of the application? I was planning on just leaving it blank.

Thank you

If your undergrad University did not disclose ranks, you can leave it blank.

Still working on the GMAT prep. I am consistently doing better in GMAT prep software quizzes. I wonder how close they are in terms to real exam

Here's the transcript of our recent live chat with Tuck adcom. Thank you all for participating in the chat and asking insightful questions.

"We make a fairly even number of offers to candidates throughout early action, November, and January (we make offers in April, of course, but it is a much smaller round on the whole and fewer offers issued as a result). It is great to apply early, but applying with your strongest application is more important.....for all demographics!)." - Amy Mitson, Senior Associate Director, Tuck Admissions.

Are you guys using the complete word limit on the section about your employers and your previous job responsibilities? Those are almost mini essays if you do...

no i am not even counting words when i am filling those sections. Just conveying is most efficient manner.

Did anyone apply to DivCo, and if so did you get a confirmation email of sorts? I haven't heard anything, not even confirmation of submission, so wondering if I mis-typed my email on the application...

Hey guys, I’m working to get my application in for EA. Im unable to schedule a applicant interview within the timeline for EA just because there are no slots available, but i scheduled one for the earliest available day a week after the deadline and I note that in my EA application. Does this affect your application negatively?

It actually does, applicant initiated interview has to be done before interview deadline for each round. You should contact admissions or apply in Round 1.

Thanks for the response. You’re suggesting that applying in R1 with the applicant initiated interview scheduled within the deadline for R1 is better than completing the application before the EA deadline and schedule an interview before the R1 deadline? I’m unable to see the logic behind that - since the adcom will be be able to see that I have scheduled an interview and visit, but was just unable to find a spot within the deadline for EA. Thoughts?

I am not saying one is better than other. As per adcoms applicant initiated interview is only considered if done within the time frame allocated. Anyone applying in EA has to get their interview done before october 31 if i am not mistaken. I would suggest emailing the adcoms and politely asking if its ok to interview in R1 phase but apply in EA.

I was accepted to DivCo during the first wave of responses but I never received any form of confirmation beforehand. I was actually worried that my app failed to send because it took a while to hear back!
