Guys! Don't you think that compared to the same date last year, the invites extended for R1 look to be on the lower end?

Posted from my mobile device
Maybe they have fewer slots because of the early action round this year?

I was thinking that maybe the Early Action round caused a delay in the normal timeline of reviewing Round 1 applications so maybe there will be a larger wave coming.

Not looking good for those of us without invites. We are getting pretty late in the cycle it seems, almost a month before decisions go out.

The only thing that makes me think there might be some invites still to go out (although perhaps not many) is that the number of reported invites vs. historical data we have on here and clearadmit is very low compared to 2020.

I think if we don't find out by end of next week, our goose is cooked.

Hi guys, sorry if I'm asking this at the wrong time. Is anyone applying to the UVA-Data science Institute for dual degree with data science this Monday?

I don't fully agree with that sentiment, although it has crossed my mind. They say that they will send out invites up until the decision date. I would be willing to bet that invites will start to flow next week to come to Charlottesville the week following Thanksgiving. I am hopeful that the were a bit delayed due to early applications, and also by the fact that this thread has been at essentially a trickle for the past few weeks.

Not a fan of rolling interview invites into late November. It's a little inconsiderate invite someone to interview within a 2-3 week window, which, to me, would reflect poorly on the program. Makes me feel like I'm not the first girl they asked to the prom dance.

Hi All,

Is there any data about how are the chances of clearing the waitlist at Darden, especially as an international candidate?

Thanks for clarifying. That sounds ridiculously tough.

It does. I'm here too. There's another topic opened for waitlisted applicants, you can connect with others there.

It's been a couple weeks now with next to no invites reported.

Looking at previous cycles on Clear Admit, people got invites up to the middle of November. If this trend continues that means if we don't get invited by the end of this week, it's a ding (most likely)

I mean, is it possible a couple people get invites in late NOV/early DEC? Sure, but it's highly unlikely it's going to be in any large number just because it's so late in the cycle.

True, but there was no early-action round in the past few years. Looking at Clear Admit, it did seem that they had admitted a large number of people in the early action round, which may be depressing the invites. I do wonder why there hasn't been much activity in the invites this time around.

Yep. There's something like 1/3 the amount of RD 1 invites compared to last year, but that could be because the new EA round is cannibalizing the normal RD1 invites as you mentioned.

It's been almost two weeks since the last invite. And today was the last day for invites last year so I'm guessing the chances of any more invites are very low. It's a bummer because I really like Darden and hoped to at least get an interview, but I still have three other schools in the running...

I assume that the majority of the invites went out in the mid November. Last year I heard about maybe a couple in the early December, but not more than that. One week to the decision. Good luck y'all!

Well either way it's pretty safe to say that if you aren't invited yet you'll get the ding next week. Good luck to those still in the running.
