Hi all,

I'd love to do a mock interview with a few people at some point Sunday-Tuesday. Would anyone be interested? Just send a PM and I'll arrange something! :)

Not to jump the gun, but hypothetically. What would you choose between full scholarship to Yale SOM vs no money at Wharton? MBB is the goal.

I think this is a hard one because to the lay person, the Yale name carries more weight, but in the business world, I think Wharton still carries a greater halo effect, especially on the East Coast. Though a free ride does open up a ton of opportunities and being debt free is pretty awesome.

For me, I would probably still choose Wharton because of in no particular order the a) prestige (already seeing some of this effect when reaching out to people for potential pre-MBA internships) b) larger alumni network c) larger class in the fields I am interested in consulting/private equity d) location - Philly is more exciting to me than New Haven e) I expect to exit to a high paying job where the payoff for the MBA program should come rather quickly.

Interested in hearing other people's thoughts.

Option (C) is not a good reason to join Wharton. It also means there will be stronger competition for the roles that you're interested in.

Honestly this is a tough one - I'd much rather go to Wharton because of prestige and the network, but for MBB the difference shouldn't be significant. It may play a role in the offices you're able to recruit to (e.g. Wharton may help you in more competitive offices), but overall, I see the differences as minimal, and full scholarship is significant

I'd assume by 5pm Eastern, but no clue honestly. Clearadmit's R1 has portal rejections starting at 1:27 pm Eastern.

Hi Guys!

I just got my admission offer from Wharton!
I applied to Tuck in Round 1 and got in with a $60 K scholarship. I had to deposit my enrolment fee for Tuck before I heard back from Wharton.
My husband applied to Tuck in Round 2 and also got in, but did not get any scholarship from Tuck so far.

My short term ambition is to get into Tech Consulting (So I can quickly pay off my loan).
In the longer term I plan to work for a Tech giant and eventually launch my own tech startup.

I am a US national but have been living in Pakistan, where I have been working for the past 4 years but due to the ever increasing exchange rates have almost negligible savings in USD.
My husband has his immigration petition approved and is waiting for his green card.

I am super confused about what I should do.
Will really appreciate any help you guys could provide to help in decision making or the steps I can or should take:

- My husband should apply to Wharton in round 3? (deadline has been extended to April 15th)
- I should appeal for a scholarship to Wharton? (any suggestions as to how and what to write)
- I should appeal to Tuck to increase my scholarship by leveraging Wharton decision?
- My husband should go to Tuck & I go to Wharton (and try our best to make things work)

Thanks!

M

Got with choice 4. You guys should make it work while going to diff schools. Wharton is hard to turn down. 20 years from now, you'll be glad you made the decision. 2 years will go by fast. Best of luck.
