Please evaluate me!?
I am a mechanical engg. graduate (2010 batch), working in Power and natural resources vertical in India. I am in CESC LTD. (RP-SG group) as Sr. Planning engineer in its sub critical thermal power plant,working for the last 7 years since i passed out from the undergrad University.
My monologue,?
Passed from NIT, Durgapur and went into the organization that first offered me the share of pie. From then on life went on…with its own tipsy ride…met with a girl(currently my wife) in the most unexpected situation..in the most unusual place (chennai appolo..come on!! dont presuppose...its just a hospital) and got married within a year. Oh! She is'nt indian…she is 4m Bangladesh. I was working with the same flow and happened to thought of taking GMAT as my desires do not contemplate my current offering from the organization.
I wish to be an expert in operations management/ marketing and wish to be at an organization which helps me accentuates my knowledge and my skills.
My profile:
GMAT-710; GPA-8.12/10 IN
10 SCALE---PROBABLY CONVERTS TO GPA-4 IN US SCALE; 8 YRS WORK EX. IN CESC LTD. within different capacity and functions; 88.5 %in both Xth.and XIIth. ; Passionate about travelling and trekking- undertaken a lot of hikes to the mighty himalayas- Last to last was of exactly 9 days; I am planning to write travelouge and blogs to delineate my experiences that i richly price; Photography and music are what i deeply love from within and practice regularly.I also happen to play spanish guitar sometimes.?
Any advice will be ardently valued….
Which schools should i apply to?
My current. Financials requires me to earn a generous tuition waiver for pursuing my dream...
N.B: i took 1 month subscription of GMAT club tests and bought 7 tests of veritas for mocks before GMAT..?

I have a profile which fits in to operations management as i worked as panel charge operations engineer in a 250 MW subcritical coal fired unit for the initial 3 years of my 8 years in the organization, the remaining five years i worked in the Planning and Administration division of the 750 MW (250 MW* 3) thermal powe r station..i can well handle a team with the leadership skills I possess.
In, Marketing i dont have any hands on experience. This may be an alternative career option.
I want to pursue MBA from United states.
I want to work in Global strategy consulting IN retail/FMCG/manufacturing for organization like Amazon, Procter and Gamble, Ford. I will be willing to relocate to any province/country if the nature of work contemplates my interest.

I'd look at some schools in the top 15-30 range- some that come to mind- Carlson, Mendoza, Olin, Owen, Georgetown. I also think getting to practice your elevator pitch you need to pare down to the essential... the 710 GMAT is going to make top 15-20 harder- not impossible- and the more you know WHY this school and WHY MBA the better your odds- but I think your sweet spot would be in one of the top 30 programs- for retail you might add UCLA as they have excellent retail and you might also add NYU for same reason- but many of the programs I mentioned above in top 30 can get you to Amazon and companies you mention.
