Hi everyone! I've been lucky enough to be admitted to two of the schools above (will hear from McDonough on the 25th), but I was hoping to get everyone's opinion on which school to choose. A little about me, I'm 29, have 6+ years WE, and will be a career switcher. My desired post-MBA industry is Management Consulting, preferably with MBB, but knowing that that is extremely competitive, I'm fine with a 2nd tier firm. The big thing that is making this a tough choice is that my significant other has a great job in DC and wouldn't relocate with me to Durham or Chapel Hill, so her choice is obviously McDonough (assuming I get in), but given my desired post-MBA career, I don't see how I could turn down Fuqua. Am I right in my thinking? Would a scholarship from McDonough make this a less crazy decision? HELP!! It should be noted that post-MBA, she is ok with relocating and we are hoping for someplace warm. Thoughts on the schools below:
Fuqua:
Pros- Consulting placement, Team Fuqua, extremely loyal alumni/student base, and when I visited, I felt like it was the perfect fit
Cons - I'll be 4 hours away from my significant other
Kenan-Flagler: I'll be honest, once I was accepted to Fuqua, I sort of eliminated Kenan-Flagler.
McDonough:
Pros - close to my significant other, good placement in consulting
Cons - lower ranked than the other schools, gets some placement in top firms but not like Fuqua, gets a lot of Federal Consulting
So pretty much this is a location vs better school question...can anybody help?? Would I be crazy to turn down Fuqua?? (sorry for the long post)
