Fuqua and its not even close imho.

This is off topic and maybe I'm naive about this, but as far as I know, the MBB's and even tier 2 consulting firms have GMAT score cutoffs to receive interviews. Do they relax this for programs that they pull a bunch of students from?

From my research and talking to consultants at these firms, including MBB, there isn't a hard cutoff, but a better GMAT always helps. I'm going to reach out to the consulting club(s), but from what I've been told, networking can overcome a low GMAT.

But this is just what I've heard/read, so take it with a grain of salt.

What I've heard is 700 for tier 2, 720+ for MBB. I ended up recruiting for asset management, so I'm not the most knowledgable on the topic. You are right that the recruiting is pretty high touch. You need to network either way though. Definitely reach out the consulting clubs and see what they say.

Congrats on the admits and good luck!

Congratulations!
I think Fuqua will allow you to make the most headway in the MC career as they have a number of MBB's on campus 5 days a week year round watching students, recruiting, and being available should you want to walk in and chat them up a bit. Talk to one of the current students looking at MBB/MC and see what they think about Fuqua's position and hiring prospects.

P.S. Sorry about the 4 hours of separation - this will be tough as BSchool gets intense and you will not have much free time... would build in some travel time/costs in Fuqua but i think will be well worth it.

Good Luck!

Thanks bb! And thanks for such a great site! Yeah if I do go to Fuqua I'll definitely build in some travel time/costs to keep things as easy as possible with the long distance relationship. I'll definitely be reaching out to more students and hopefully they can provide some insight on consulting and the long distance relationship.
