Have you exhausted OG and Verbal review and Advanced guide???

These sources are MUST DO.

Also, can you share esr report of your last attempt. It might be helpful in forming a right strategy

Hello everyone,

I just received my score for GMAT Online and I got a 710. This was my first attempt at the exam and will be taking it again to try and score in the 740 range. I studied for 3 months and used TTP to prepare (which is great and I definitely recommend) and also did the official practice tests 1-6.

My practice tests were 710, 750, 720, 710, 710, 740. To be honest, I found the actual test tougher, especially the RC section and I kind of struggled with time in both Q and V so there is a lot of room for improvement. I am looking to retake it in a month and was wondering whether anyone has any suggestions on Verbal material to focus on medium + hard questions to get my score in the 40+ range and also any other Q material that to focus on hard questions.

This is not in any way a knock on TTP, which - again - I highly recommend, but it is just that I feel that I have seen those questions many times already.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Alexiaponas.

I'm so glad to hear that you liked the TTP Verbal Course. We put a lot into making it a complete, effective tool for achieving whatever verbal score someone wants to achieve.

Now, going forward, whatever verbal practice questions you use, to develop stronger verbal skills, be sure to carefully analyze every verbal question choice by choice and fully define what makes the incorrect choices incorrect and the correct answers correct.

In other words, don't just shoot for the correct answers to verbal questions. You goal when practicing should be understanding each choice as if each choice were itself a question.

Also, get used to being self aware regarding whether you have really understood each choice and have strong, clear reasons for choosing the choice that you are choosing.

The skills of fully seeing what's going on in the choices and being clear regarding whether you have found strong, clear reasons for choosing a choice are key to scoring high in GMAT verbal.

Thank you for your response! I haven't done the Advanced guide so will definitely do that - thanks for pointing it out. Regarding the ESR report, unfortunately the GMAT online one does not currently produce one (I believe this will change after April the 8th).

Hi Alexiaponas

Congratulations on your score! However, as you pointed out there is still room for improvement. V-38 shows that you are fairly good with concepts and it is fine-tuning your strategies and approaches that is important at this point.

Solving all the official resources- OG, Verbal Review and Advanced guide is crucial.

Your ESR will tell a better picture about what went wrong on the exam and how we can fill the gaps. If ESR is not available, you can do a thorough analysis of all your mocks to devise better strategies and work on your problem areas. Reach out to us if you need further assistance.

Good luck with your next attempt! :)
