They will be using the "Total score" so the global of Quant & Verbal, that may not be good in some cases if there was a minimum percentile in both sections for a school or when someone was able to overcome a low quant but dropped a bit on Verbal too.

It would be fun that they would combine the max sectional scores but would be also meaningless and they will completely lose everyone's trust on the exam.

Regards,
Pablo

Now I have reached the limit of my knowledge :-) I had the same question as to what constitutes the same or a different score. My guess is the cumulative score. If it’s the same overall score, then there is no change.... Did you end up taking the test? We now verify GMAT online on GMAT Club. ?

Another data point, people who have taken GMAT online before June 11, are allowed to retake it with a physical whiteboard. If they receive a higher score, their lower score will be overwritten and if they receive a lower score, then the score will remain unchanged. It seems the system supports only one score somehow and is somewhat limited.
Wow, that sounds complicated, but you've got nothing to lose in that situation other than the time and the $200. Do you have an official source for this?

Does a "higher score" mean a higher composite, and vice-versa? What if it's the same score?

Why not allow students to keep both, if one is high in Quant and the other in Verbal, for example?

Thanks.

I think you should be able to erase any time you wish/want.

It does not say if using laminated sheets like the practice booklet from MGMAT/Veritas are acceptable but reading it more and more, I feel they would be (they are not prohibited) but frankly, it is just a guess and deduction and inference, not hard answer. If we judge based on the previous experience with the GMAT support, they will take a while to catch up and we will be getting a number of conflicting answers until they all get on the same page.

Hi Everyone,

Was wondering whether laminated sheets like those we get at the test center count as whiteboard. Does it have to be a whiteBOARD?

Also, can we just erase the content midway exam ?
The site doesn`t say anything about whether we can use both the sides. If erasing midway exam is not allowed, what do you guys think? Is it safe to assume that we can use both the sides?

Cheers,

Hi bb,
As per the GMAC instructions, the physical whiteboard shall not be larger than (30 x 43) = 1,290 cms.
I have one whiteboard with the specification of (36 x 24 x 1cm) = 864 cms. Had bought it from Amazon.
So, I guess my whiteboard qualifies for the GMAT Online.
Can you please help if I'm correct or am I missing out on something?
Anyways I will keep the scissors ready to make any last minute adjustment if Proctor insists ;)

Hi,
I give my Verbal exams by putting the options (ABCDE) and then by striking off the incorrect ones.
Havent seen anything in the announcement that says we can do such kind of excercise on the physical whiteboard. Neither do they deny such a thing.
Not sure whether I will be aloowed to do it on the day of exam.

Any inputs or thoughts by candidates who use a similar method?

I think there is a mistake. 20 in = 50.8 cm not 43 cm.

I actually didn’t understand one thing. What’s about shipping? At first glance it looks like they are going to provide us with these whiteboards, so we have to order SPECIAL tools.
But on the other hand, maybe the phrase about shipping is said because of the quarantine regime. So now the main question for me is: Can we buy these whiteboards and markers by ourselves in our cities?

Does any one have an official confirmation from Gmat regarding if one can give an exam with online whiteboard before 10th June(exam booked after 6th June) and then again give the online gmat with physical whiteboard after 11th June?

Hi bb. That was my first guess as well. But reading through the mba.com page, they've said "paper in a clear slide" is prohibited. GMAT-style scratchpad is technically paper in a clear slide. I think we will have to get a whiteboard, like most tutors use in their classes. Something like this:

I'm not 100% sure, thoughts?

I would say that you should stop wasting time like this.... Just practice with the online whiteboard. I've been practicing with the online whiteboard and now I score even better than with the scratchpad

Hi bb...
I was just wondering whether we will be able to sit for the online gmat exam after mid june... as in my country the government has just communicated that the quarantine will be here at least until june 28th, and IMO, even larger because the gvt will probably postpone the end of the quarantine after june 28th...

It would be great to know if GMAC is considering those students that are in a similar situation to mine

Well, it comes down to personal preference. I've worked on the online whiteboard as well over the last few weeks, but I'd still prefer the physical whiteboard any day.

Anybody there experiencing problems reporting their online score to schools, I am having issues with Krannert and UM. I have reached out to GMAC but they are useless, asking me to explain the schools about the new system of getting scores.

I have my GMAT exam (test center) scheduled for June 9th and it will take place. What country are you based out of? If you dont mind sharing. I am in India, and its not happening at centres.

My question is: Can I take the GMAT Online Exam after taking the normal GMAT?
If yes, do I need to schedule the GMAT Online Exam before June 9th or after?

Thanks! :)
