Hello everyone,
I'm in a bit of confusion and I'd like your opinion. I'm currently in my final year of undergraduate persuing Batchelors in international business. For the past 2½ months I have been preparing for GMAT and as of now, I am at a decent progress. Recently, on 15th August I met the admission coucil faculty of IE Spain HST and had a conversation with him, in which he suggested that I should try to give IEGAT.
I thought about it for whole night and discussed it with the institute that's helping me prepare for GMAT. I feel like giving IEGAT would be a wiser decision for me, the reason being—
• GMAT prep would take atleast 4 more weeks for me to score what I want, which is 680+ and this is pure speculation based on I'm able to complete my practice on time
• I have to prepare for IELTS and according to the institute it'll take roughly 3-4 weeks to be able to perform well in IELTS test
• I wanna enhance my profile and complete the certification courses and several courses from Coursera related to the field of digital marketing, since I want to pursue Master in Digital Marketing
Now after reading about IEGAT, it seems like it doesn't require a lot of preparation and even if I want to prepare, a casual prep of 2 weeks should be enough. I'll be able to give the IEGAT on 17th September, so by that time I can also give my IELTS. Now the another reason why I want to give IELTS instead of GMAT is that the universities I have shortlisted do not require GMAT.
• ESIC business and marketing school: Master in Digital Marketing
• KEDGE Business school: Msc digital marketing and sales
• Bologna Business School: Master in New Media and Marketing Communication
• MIP Milan Polytechnic University: IM4- International Master in Marketing Management, Omnichannel and Consumer Analytics
After contacting the universities, I am certain that they do not require GMAT score, they do require IELTS. So at this point I'm giving GMAT for just IE Spain, and I have a feeling that I can perform much better in IEGAT compared to GMAT, with less preparation required. I am hoping to start my application process in October 2019, for the fall batch of 2020 for the following universities, but if I continue with prep for GMAT, I am not sure I'll be able to do other things alongside which means the application process will be delayed for no one knows how long. That's why here's my question— Shall I drop or pause my preparation of GMAT and focus on IEGAT and my whole profile? Or is it a big gamble?
Also, if someone in this forum has tried IEGAT, how did you prepare for the exam? How was the exam and what was the outcome?

If you want to apply only IE, try IEGAT otherwise go with GMAT only.
