Mock scores prior to GMAT retake:
MGMAT1: 710,
MGMAT2:710
MGMAT3:670
MGMAT4:740
OG TEST1: 730
OG TEST2: 760
Observations:1) Over prepping the weakness always helps. Always. SC was mine. Used Manhattan study material for SC, solved questions from
OG and
MGMAT tests.
2) If you're naturally good at something or habituated in a certain way, do not second guess it. E.g: I have a habit of reading quite a lot. But for RC, at first I followed the note-scribbling, conclusion-checking approach suggested by Manhattan. It wasted valuable time in exam. This time I took a decision that I wont take note for RC and trust instincts. It worked. Learned techniques are always second to natural ones.
3) This is a cliche advice. But here it goes. In verbal(especially sc),after first 2-3 questions, when each of the question pops out, try to understand what is being tested instead of getting lost in the details. In short, think like the person who made GMAT.
4) If you're doing well in Maths and difficult questions are popping out, especially in DS, be counter intuitive. Meaning, when you're down to last 2 options, more often than not the one you think is wrong is right.
5) Near the end of your verbal session if one after another assumption/ evaluate the argument/ boldface portion questions pop out, be happy. This means that you're being served top grade questions which means you're doing well.
6) One more cliche advice, in SC learn to ignore the preposition phrases from the get go. This is very beneficial in twisted parallelism/ modifier questions.
These are the hacks that comes to my mind up top. Wouldn't mind helping out with other specific queries. Keep hustling!
