The total price paid for 5 shirts can be found by putting x = 5 in cost function (100+10x^2),
Total price = 100+10(5^2)= 350
Average price per shirt = total amount paid/no of shirts = 350/5 = 70

A. 40
B. 50

price of shirts = (100+10$$x^2$$) euro --- x= number of shirts purchased

bob purchased 5 shirts
total price of 5 shirts = (100+10*$$5^2$$) = 350 euro

average price of the shirt = $$\frac{350}{5}$$ = 70

Solution:

Question 4: The price of shirts at Primark is defined as Euro $$(100+10x^2)$$, where x is the number of shirts purchased. Bob purchased 5 shirts from the above shop. The average price of the shirt is:

A. 40
B. 50
C. 60
D. 70
E. 75

In this question, we need to substitute the value of x = 5 shirts that are purchased in order to find out the price of those shirts. Then, we need to divide the total price obtained by 5 to find the average price of the shirt and hence, the answer to this question.

Therefore, putting the value of x = 5, we get:
$$100 + 10x^2 = 100 + 10*{5}^2 = 100 + 250 = 350$$
Average price of shirt = (Total price of 5 shirts) / 5 =$$\frac{350}{5}$$
Therefore, required average price = 70, which is Option D.

Option D is the right answer.

Solution:

Price of shirts: 100+ 10x^2
Now Bob purchased 5 shirts, it cost him a total of: 100+ 10*(5^2) = 350.

The average price of each shirt will be: 350/5 = 70.

Answer: 70
