Hi Rockstar20 - thank you for your post!

Congratulations on your strong GMAT score of 720! That will certainly be an advantage in your applications. If you could provide a little more information about your profile, that will help me to provide insight. What was your GPA in undergrad and what did you study? What types of activities, internships, leadership positions have you held? What is your role at ZS and have you had career progression there? Your number of years of work experience is low compared to the average number at top programs, so it will help to understand other aspects of your profile.

Thank you,
Shari DeLuryea

Hi Shari ,

Thanks a lot for asking me

I have done my graduation ( B.E - Electronics and Communication Engineering ) from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, India with a CGPA of 9.04/10 (90.4%) . Also I have been a 2 time merit scholarship holder (2 consecutive years ) in my college .

My 10th class CGPA has been 10 CGPA (95 %) and 12th class percentage has been 91.8%

I have worked for 2 clubs in my college -:

1) Cultural club in which I was a part of the event organizing team and played a role of a cultural head i.e talking to the managers of renowned musicians and sufi artists , planning out the cultural events etc.

2) Science & Maths Club - Here I was a part of their management team wherein I helped them organize several fun maths & science challenges.

I have worked for 2 NGO’s as well -:

One was a Wildlife conservation NGO wherein I was a part of the team which rescued animals on road which were hurt ( due to accidents with cars etc.)

Second was an NGO wherein I taught underprivileged kids and helped them gather resources such as school books , school bags etc.

In ZS, I have been working closely with a US pharma client and i handle their sales incentive compensation and goal setting . I analyze extensive retail and outlet level sales data to create useful insights and also do call planning for field reps to optimize customer reach . I have also provided ad hoc analytical support for clients to help cater to varying demands from field representatives.
Working at ZS has led me learning about a lot of new dimensions of how the industry works , also analyzing the real sales data helps understanding the different areas where things can be improved to get better profits for the company .

This all has led me to derive insights and look in those directions which are generally ignored by us.

Look forward to your response!

Hi Rockstar20 - thank you so much for providing the additional information. You have a solid profile, with strong academics and GMAT score. Your professional experience also appears to be relevant and desirable for business programs, however the number of years experience is on the low side for top schools. Another year or two of work experience with increasing leadership/teamwork/etc., plus a slightly higher GMAT score would make many of the top US possibilities for you. A few other aspects that would be helpful in determining school selection will be what your focus is for short and long term career, as well as location. You may have an easier time getting accepted to some of the non-US schools, some of which have a lower average years work experience.

If you would like to discuss further, feel free to set up a free consultation with me!

Best of luck,
Shari

Hello Rockstar20!
Here is a helpful list of the average months of work experience for the top 50 US schools.
https://poetsandquants.com/2019/11/27/a ... rograms/2/

The admissions committees will be looking at your relevant work experience along with many other factors. Strong essays and letters of recommendations will be important, along with a compelling story regarding your goals and strategy.

I would be happy to discuss further if you'd like to set up a free consultation!

Regards,
Shari
