Seemingly difficult decision ahead of me within next 7 days. I have been admitted to Kellogg 1Y program (25% scholarship), Haas (scholarship decision 2 days before deposit deadline though expecting something here), with INSEAD decision coming within next 3 weeks (very positive interviews).
I'm coming from Asia-based investment banking, looking to transition into strategy/biz dev/finance role with larger corporate in energy/cleantech or PE/VC focusing on energy. Long-term looking to be based US/Asia (preferred) or Europe/Asia (secondary) which would allow me to keep traveling. Geography not really issue. My views from conversations are:
1) Kellogg is the better "brand" in the States and might yield a few more interviews at Fortune 500s; shorter program. Downside is lack of internship and many of those I've spoken with have struggled to secure FT offers before graduation (if changing careers)
2) Much better for energy/cleantech, better brand in Asia. Downside of 2 years + associated expenses, though scholarship likely. Less focus on finance potential downside though local private equity network might be enhanced.
3) INSEAD Singapore has great Asia placement with corporate rotation programs, good MBB alternative in case this doesn't work out, and possibility of internship (December intake), doing semester in Europe could help access the cleantech companies/firms in London, which is a hub. Downside is brand not as known in the US.
Thoughts? Missing any points? Any insight here very appreciated.
