Hi guys,
I'd very much like your thoughts on my situation.
I am admitted to both LBS (with some money) and Wharton.
My post-MBA goals sit in the financial sphere, somewhere in the grey area between investment banking and investment management. Location wise, I have tilt towards London, purely because my girlfriend cannot switch easily to the US at all. Also worth mentioning I have been living in London for a few years now.
The way is see things right now:
Overall brand name: Wharton without doubt
From a finance point of view: Wharton (although LBS is certainly strong as well)
Location - job-wise: LBS (although I know Wharton's presence in Europe and especially in London is significant so I suppose it would not be too hard to find something in London while attending Wharton)
Location -girlfriend & family-wise: LBS without doubt
Price: LBS
Mitigating factors for Wharton location-wise are:
- the possibility to do an exchange at LBS or INSEAD
- I still can (and intend to) intern in London during the summer
One more thought: Brexit can impact things in London so it may be "safer" to get US experience, especially in the finance industry.
I have a good feeling with both schools.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
feeling jealous brother
, confused between wharton and LBS.
give importance to family, since it will be big headache laterwise to switch the family to US.
If you planning to stay in london go for LBS
