Look at the employer reports from each school. All schools are pretty regional with McDonough having a bit more reach on both coasts.

I know McDonough recruiting is strong with lots of people entering consulting, brand management, etc. Merage will give you opportunities in the SoCal area and you'll have more traditional tech options. Irvine is like a mini Silicon Valley.

Hi,

I am in Indian software engineer and I intend to do an MBA in US. I have been admitted to full-time MBA program at Fisher School of Business, Mcdonough School of Business - Georgetown and Merage School of Business.
I have received scholarships from Merage and Fisher.

I am confused as to which school should I join. I intend to work in the field of IT consultancy or a product management role in US after MBA. I have talked to alumni of the schools and I still cannot decide on one. Can you give me some pros and cons of these colleges.
Also what factors should I consider before making a final call.

Any information in this regard will be very helpful.
Thanks in advance.

mcdonough will give you the best shot at getting a career in the US, especially in the mid-atlantic region. merage is below ucla and usc in socal. also, career center is not so good. fisher has been down in the rankings and is better known for getting people into industry positions.

mcdonough > fisher > merage

good luck!

You are right, but I have been talking to current students in McDonough and most of them shared a common opinion that McDonough in recent years has turned into more of a federal school wherein employers are very interested in hiring students for federal consulting roles and international students are not allowed to apply for these roles.

yes. you are in a tough spot. especially with the elections. i am not sure how difficult getting a work visa will be with the new presidency. i can say that Fischer school does have connections within the industry. i currently live in columbus and the big companies are headquartered here: JP Morgan Chase, Nationwide Insurance, L Brands, Cardinal Health, Abercrombie & Fitch, PNC Financial and I work at Honda Motors. I did my undergrad at UC Irvine and I can tell you, its not a business school its more a science tech school. i would say do more research. If you want to work in southern california, apply to USC or UCLA.

Hands down Georgetown. Has a bigger network, more global brand and feeds in to consulting. The only time you'd consider anything else is if the scholarships out weight the benefits which in your case it doesn't seem like.
