Today I did it. Besides being incredibly happy, I have thanked my every close people, especially I would like to thank GMATclub and give high appreciation for
Manhattan GMAT, Veritas Prep and
Magoosh (this is not an advertisement
).
In total I have taken 3 real GMATs, one in 2015, when I was 4st year undergraduate student. I got 670 (Q50, V do not remember).
Second one in April this year, when I got, surprisingly, 610 (Q 51, V do not remember, but totally bombed). After second try on the GMAT I was a little bit destroyed, since I have prepared much more than at the first time. I never had a problem with Quant, I have undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering. Nonetheless I have studied all materials, prepared for essay etc. Even got 10 days vocation from work, to better prepare for the exam, in the last month did more than 10 full length tests etc. But I was really shocked when I saw my result, I was broken, for one day so. The next day, I have registered to take a new GMAT for 20th of June.
For today I have prepared again, but now I have concentrated not on making more and more problems, but to focus on understanding the problem, really look what is inside of it. For this I want to thank very much Veritas Prep free video`s, which are available if you download their app to your iPhone or iPad. It has changed my way to solve the problems. I have used and went like 3-4 times, I guess, on
Manhattan GMAT books, which I got from my friend. And, of course I did
OG, GMAT Verbal, 700-800 questions pack.
It was really hard to cope with GMAT preparation, while you work full time usually till 8-9 pm, and your job is a tough one. So below I would like to write down some tips for people, for whom English is not a native language, who do not have much money to buy a full length prep courses.
I never have studied for Quant, the only preparation was to solve problems, I never got below 50-51 on any of my tests, whether it is real or not.
For Verbal in general: get up and down
Manhattan GMAT books, there is no need to buy a newer version, older one you can easily find on the web. Veritas prep free videos are the best source to get the strategy.
For SC: great great value have free videos of
Magoosh on youtube, with explanations of the problems of
OG. The tip is to learn the way to reason for each problem, whether you get it right or wrong.
For CR: conclusion is the key, you will not get the question right, unless you know the conclusion of the passage.
For RC: endurance is the key, train this by studying late after work, when you are tired, this is the real feeling to read the RC on the real GMAT.
This was in short my way to the GMAT. Once again I would like to thank everybody here on the forum and creators of this forum. Any problem I have struggled to find an answer, good explanation was ready here. Thank you all!
