I think so. They interviewer only has access to the resume. You can contact the adcoms for further information.

Just had my video interview with a 2nd year student. Friendly and causal conversations. Lots of questions about team work.

Congrats for completing the next step and best wishes for the results !

It would help us a lot, if you can elaborate a bit more on the questions asked.

1. introduce yourself
2. what does team work mean to you
3. can you give me an example of you leading a team
4. can you give me an example when you are not a team leader
5. why Rice
6. can you share a life changing moment

The life changing moment one kinda threw me off but the rest are pretty standard.

I got an interview invitation today after submitting my application yesterday just in time. Must say Rice admissions office doesn't fish around. I'm impressed at their speed. Going to Houston for an on campus interview on November 17th.

Good luck! I submitted 10/28 and last rec letter was submitted 11/1 but I have yet to hear back from them :/ starting to get a little nervous what with their quick turnaround time for other applications

Hi all,

I had my interview on 4th Nov and as expected, it was pretty causal. Some questions asked were:

1.Walk me through your resume
2. Tell me about a conflict faced at work place
3. Tell me about a time when you solved a challenging task and what was the learning
4. Why MBA? Why Rice?
5. I said about my entrepreneurship goals . So he asked about my past experience for the same and what quality does a person should have to become an entrepreneur.
6. Why you?
7. Lastly, he asked for any queries I had for him.

That pretty much wraps my interview. I hope the description helps.

Has anyone not received an interview invite after applying before the R1 deadline?

As I understood it, every applicant that applied by November 1st was guaranteed an interview, but I applied before Nov 1st and haven't heard anything. Just curious if this is the norm or the exception.

Cheers.

Same boat as you. I sent an email in asking about this, but I'm thinking about calling in to check. I'm guessing they got way more applications than they had planned on getting.

That's my thinking too, but there was a post above from someone who said they submitted on Nov 1st and received an interview invite just a couple days afterward. I'm still guessing that it's from a huge influx of applicants regardless, though.

Interviewed yesterday with Amy, a 2nd year student.

I think it went well, it was very informal and low key. I got the standard questions that are listed everywehere.

1. Tell me about yourself
2. Why an MBA?
3. Why Jones?
4. What are your short and long term goals?
5. Give me an example of leadership
6. How do you work in a team effectively?
7. What clubs/organizations/activities are you interested in participating in?
8. Any questions for me?
