I am preparing my application for Round2. I not sure how to answer

Is it a trick question or can I confidently list all the other universities that I am applying. I am mostly considering the schools in Texas due to its connection to energy sector as my career is in energy sector. Haven't finalist the list of schools I want to apply.

No it's not a trick question. They genuinely want to know how you rank their school among others. Did you apply to M7 schools then Rice would be a safety. They want to gauge how you rank their school.

I guess bschools care about their yield (% of applicants who enrol after receiving admits). Plus no one only applies to 1 school.

Anyway answering this question isn't mandatory but answering it truthfully won't put you at a disadvantage. Good luck!

Hi guys! I just received an e-mail regarding "an update to my application status," asking that I call the director of admissions.

Made the call, and was admitted with scholarship!!!!

Applied: Nov. 1 (Last day of R1)
Interviewed: Nov. 28
Admitted: Dec. 8 (Decision deadline Dec. 15)

GMAT: 720 Q45 V44 (Shout out to EmpowerGMAT)
GPA: 2.97
Work Experience: 4 years, Real Estate (founded investment firm after college) & 2 years, IT at Dell (entry-level, but earned 2 promotions)

Undergraduate Institution: Baylor University
Major: Entrepreneurship
2nd Major: International Business

Essay Topics:
-Defining Moment: I got fired from a cushy position with great pay after undergrad, which lead me start my real estate company, change my point of view
-Path: Backstory + Why I willingly shut down my company (because consulting firms wouldn't talk to me without an MBA, enterprise experience)

I really hope this helps, and I wish you all the best of luck.

PS: Other schools I have applied to include UVa, Georgetown, and Texas, but admission to Rice was the reason I even began GMAT Prep. We'll see what happens with UVa, but I am 99% sure I'll matriculate at Rice.

I received an email around 2 hours ago. They wanted to call me to say that I was admitted with a partial scholarship. They said that they wanted to admit a few people and send email before the official admit release date

Same as the posts above: got an email about 1.5 hours ago asking me to call in regarding my application. Spoke with Samantha and she let me know that I was admitted with a pretty hefty scholarship!

Not planning on applying to any more schools in later rounds. Excited to stay in Houston for a few more years!

I'm in the US, I didn't receive a call yet either. Submitted application and interviewed early. Looking at last year, a small group did get calls the week before but the bulk of the acceptances came out on the 12th or 13th. I would expect theres still a chance to hear from them early next week.

Hope so man. Rice seemed like a natural choice to me given my background is in the energy industry. The only concern I had was my GMAT score which is 720, and on low side given that I'm going to be pooled with Indian candidates.

Keeping fingers crossed but prepared for the worst.

Got the email asking to call them just this morning. And got in with a 100% scholarship! I think they are taking a few days to do the calling so everybody keep hopes up
