Hey guys! Count me in for this year.

Couple of questions -
1. I am planning to apply to some US based programs as well and might not be able to squeeze in an R1 ISB app in time. Will R2 be a safe bet? Brief profile:
GMAT: 760 (Q50, V42)
Undergrad: CA with all-India ranks and CPA (US)
Work-ex: 4 years with Big-4 Mgmt Consulting in India
Extracurriculars: Decent

2. I plan to enter investment banking post-MBA. I do see Citi, Goldman, HSBC, and a few Indian banks in the Placement Report. However, can anybody clarify what kind of profiles do they offer?

Thanks a ton!

Hi,

I am an Architect with 6 years of experience with a design consultancy. Do you think pursuing the PGP course will help me enhance my role as a consultant? Is it a good option for an architect to study management at this stage? What are the opportunities for this kind of profile?

GMAT Score = 710
10th = 90%
12th=81%
Degree =69%

Hi there,

The good news for you is that ISB has an excellent record of recruitments in consulting, with roughly 1/3 of the class joining the industry after ISB. You will have to make a solid case for yourself. Do you want to enter a niche consulting or one of the market leaders like Mckinsey? What do you see yourself doing after MBA? Is an MBA required at all to get to that position? What transferable skills and experience will you bring to your post-MBA role?

Whether you should study management depends entirely upon what you want to do later in life, and like I said earlier, on whether that role needs you to have a formal MBA degree.

These are some important questions that need your attention right now.

You can get in touch to discuss them further.

Hi gmatbugsme84,

Can you post the essay questions and word limits here? Seems they can be accessed only after you login to the ISB application.

Thanks!

Yep. It seems that the portal is up only for testing. The questions changed when I logged back in. I think maybe we should wait for the portal to go LIVE before discussing the essays.

I found a bug though... Being a re-applicant I need to complete essay #5. But, I can't see essay #5 (no link in portal). Though I think I'll wait for the portal to go live before reporting this bug.
