Thanks for the response. I checked my application status on their page. It says that they have forwarded my application to the graduate committee for review. For whatever that means, I guess I can still keep some hope.;)

I just checked mine and it says "In Review". I believe that's a very static status and must be for everyone waiting for the invite.

The admission director of McCombs is in India for the QS MBA tour. He said he has scheduled interviews in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi in the coming week. So I guess some invites are out for Indian applicants.

Also one of the applicant asked regarding Video essay and written essay i.e. which one should an applicant prefer? The director said that there is no specific difference between the two. Just choose any one you are comfortable with.

Thought of sharing this for applicants who applied in R1 and for applicants who will be applying in R2. Hope this helps :-)

Someone posted an acceptance to McCombs today via ClearAdmit. Feels awful early for decisions to be coming out. One of the comments said: "A friend mentioned that a student said they'll start making calls this week."

Anyone get any feedback yet? Thoughts?

In the McCombs application, there is a section called

"Visa Status (International Applicants Only)"

We have a question under this section that is

Do you intend to have an F-1 or J-1 immigration document issued for enrollment into the University of Texas at Austin?
Answer can be Yes or no

Can anyone help me with the above question? If Yes , which VISA should I apply for F-1 or J-1? I googled a bit but couldn't find the apt answer

I am an Indian applicant.

For students, I believe it is F1 Visa. So, you should pick F1.

Do you guys have this link on your status portal and does it work? Mine is not working and I am not sure if it was always there. "You may now apply for on-campus housing." Maybe if we apply they'll let us in, lol.

Haha, mine says that too, and I'm pretty sure it didn't before. I'm not 100% sure, but I think my doubt may be partly due to the fact that I don't want to get my hopes up...maybe somebody else (an R2 applicant) can confirm that theirs doesn't say that?

I did see that my video got a second view from Texas 6 days ago.

Haha me too. Nearly positive it was not there before. Trying not to get my hopes up and then I also read on some other forum that you can apply as soon as your application is fully complete (although that was for undergrad). Don't think it really means anything but curious about other people's status' to see if they are actively changing.

Another week of waiting is rough. Doubt they give any feedback this week but you never know.

Mine has always had that housing app link since I submitted my application, so i doubt it's any indication of acceptance status. sorry to burst the bubble...looks like we'll have to wait 6 more days
