Hi,
I have submitted written 1st essay, not video essay. Is there any preference they have for video essay than written one?
Not invite till now. Waiting for their call...

I did written and was invited to interview...so I dont think it matters

Same with me. Considered the video essay for a while but really felt a written one would work best given what I wanted to convey. IMHO, the Adcoms wouldn't really care either way since its the content and how you come across as an applicant that matters.

How does McCombs send out admissions decisions? I know on the website it says via email, but I'm wondering if they also call admitted students or does everyone get an email?

I believe they call as well based on previous years.

thanks for the reply

so what do folks normally do if they receive an offer for another school?

do they just hold it for a whole month till another school gets back?

is it 'rude' and looked poorly to not accept an offer from another school for over a month?

Not rude at all. They should give you a deposit due date...you have until that due date to decide.

mihir0710, I am not seeking an MBA. I earned my MBA in 1990 from McCombs, when it was called Kosmetsky. I am on this forum to bring me up to speed and become my son's study buddy or in-house mentor.

Oh Wow. I too thought you were applying for a McCombs MBA. Welcome to the forum. Anyway, how would you rate your MBA experience? Do you think you would've achieved the same career goals without an MBA? It's just that we rarely get any input from people who have +25 years experience post MBA.

Just out of curiosity, what was your GMAT score that got you in McCombs?

SUPERSARS, UT MBA was 5 stars! (I will post a review of my experience at UT.) Could not have achieved my career goals w/o the MBA. That said, I was 39-years old when I graduated. Therefore, even though I interviewed 28 times, I did not receive any offers. Settled for an OK government job. Small business consulting through the Dept. of Commerce. Nice gig, since I got to use ALL that I learned in the MBA program. (Tier 2 college, BS biology, GPA 2.99. UT MBA GPA 3.41, GMAT 630, applied through Consortium.) I was unemployed for 6 months after graduation. So, one day after visiting the UT job placement office, I met a former classmate. He was sitting just outside to office door and staring at the street. I asked him "what up?" He also received NO job offers! He was WASP, 42-years old, MS in a social science, 11-years experience. But he was a "Sword Scholar," -- or something like that. He was NO ordinary grad! He was one of only 24 students who ever: 1) had a perfect 4.0, 2) attended the 2-year full-time program, 3) did not transfer any credits, 4) did not challenge any classes. Of course, high, high GMAT. He looked a lot like comedian Steve Martin. I still wonder how he got along..?

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I checked my application status on their page. It says that they have forwarded my application to the graduate committee for review. For whatever that means, I guess I can still keep some hope.;)

I think that's the default status for everyone. I got an interview invite, and it says the same thing for me. That said, don't lose hope!
