Hi Nilesh,
Thanks for sharing your profile! Nice job with your GMAT re-take – you made a significant improvement! That score plus a solid undergrad GPA (which I’m estimating equates to 3.3-3.5) check the boxes for the schools you’re targeting. So no issues there. To answer your specific question, no, I don’t see the upside in re-taking the GMAT for your IR and AWA scores. Although the adcom sees those scores, IR/AWA typically are not weighted in any admissions decision unless they're extreme.
Your family business experience is interesting and certainly a differentiator. In my experience, applicants that come from family business backgrounds bring unique strengths to their applications – operations experience that required them to wear multiple “hats” (sales, marketing, strategy, HR, supply chain, etc.), for example. With that said, you’ll want to be careful about how you communicate your experience in your applications by adding as much structure to your role as possible and quantifying your achievements at every opportunity. Doing this will make sure that your experience is credible and appears just as rigorous as your competition. Just a few tips
It’s completely understandable that you’re still evaluating your career goals at this stage in the process. However, that is something you’ll want to get more clear and specific on down the road. Laying out a clear plan for what you hope to do after business school and how that ties back to your experience to-date is a key aspect of the MBA application to almost any school. And it’s never too early to start thinking about that.
From what I can tell, your only EC since undergrad is your involvement in the NGO. Which is fine, by the way! You don’t mention the exact nature of your role but since you have been involved for 4 years, I would expect to see you hold some kind of leadership position or at least to have led an initiative or project more recently. If not, perhaps now is a great time to deepen your commitment.
I hope this was helpful! Best of luck to you!
Kindly,
Melody
