Thank you. We have built the scoring system based on this grid: https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-scoring ... 88156.html

It does not go below Q30 so anything below is not calculated but this table should give you some vague idea about your score.... but it is not based on a CAT algorithm as mentioned and only for general guidance and fun :-)

VirinR Hello. Please don't pay too much attention to the score predictor. My predicted score was a 700 a couple of days before my test and I scored no way close to 700 :). Try to focus on fixing the concepts in which you struggle.

No need to worry, you should see these tests and error logs not as a future predictors, but rather as a teacher which will improve you.
Best of Luck.

Hi VirinR,

While working on individual practice questions and quizzes are great ways to hone your skills, if you're looking for a realistic assessment of how you might score on the Official GMAT, the only practical way to receive that data is to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT under realistic conditions (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from your home, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, etc.)..

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Thank you all, for replying to my message!
It's good to know that the Error Log prediction is not CAT-based so I will use it as a general guideline.
Last week I did a practice exam and got a score of 620 (Q43 and V32) :).

I will take another exam tomorrow. If I still get a 600+ score, then I will take the GMAT asap.

Here are the answers to my questions:
1) I have studied since the 14th of October. I typically spend around 20 hours a week to study.
2) For Quant, I did a course offered by the university I want to attend. This course gave me all the information I needed since I have not done math in four years. Every two weeks, the teacher would discuss new topics (like geometry) and then I would make corresponding exercises from the OG 2020.
The course is over now so I have all the information I need to know for Quant. The course also gave me information on tackling DS problems.
For Verbal, I used the online question bank from Wiley to practice the different sections (SC, CR, RC).
First I practised SC from easy to medium and then hard. After that, I moved on to CR in the same order and lastly, I worked on RC.
3) These are my scores from the Practice Exams:
2-9-2019: Q22 V17 -> 350
13-11-2019: Q34 V23 -> 490
23-12-2019: Q43 V32 -> 620

4) I hope to take the GMAT this month, I have not set a date yet.
5) I have already applied to my school of choice. They only need the results of the GMAT since I already have completed my bachelor's degree.
6) I applied for the pre-masters Business Administration (in Dutch) at Rotterdam School of Management.

Hi VirinR,

Raising a 490 to a 620 in less than 6 weeks is a rather significant improvement in your Score, so the immediate question is whether that 620 is an accurate reflection of your current skills or not. Thus, your next practice CAT Score is really important (and you should make sure to take that CAT in a realistic fashion - take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from your home, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, etc.). Once you have that score, you should report back here and we can discuss the results and how best to proceed.

3) These are my scores from the Practice Exams:
2-9-2019: Q22 V17 -> 350
13-11-2019: Q34 V23 -> 490
23-12-2019: Q43 V32 -> 620

Are these scores on official practice exams? If yes, then have you taken these exams in real conditions without breaks, repeat questions, etc. If yes, then your improvement is significant and you have already crossed your goal score. If you score more than 600 a couple of more times then you should go for your real exam at your earliest.

All the best!

I just finished a practice CAT (Practice Exam 2 from mba).
This time I got a total score of 650 consisting of Q44 and V35.
I am very happy with this result but I do struggle more with time management than during a practice CAT.
So I think I will purchase additional exams just to train with time management.
Also, when I got my 490 score I had not done any training for Verbal so I did a lot of Verbal exercises during those 6 weeks.
This mostly explains how I got my 620 score.

Hi CAMANISHPARMAR,
The scores listed are from official practice exams. And yes, I have taken these exams in real-life conditions. I took the practice exam in my local library where everyone must be quiet.

Hi VirinR,

With this most recent CAT Score, you certainly appear to have the necessary skills to score 600+, so the most logical course of action would be for you to continue to study in the same general ways as you have been. That having been said, you have to be careful about the next group of CATs that you take.

A CAT is really a 'measuring device' - when used correctly, it will give you a realistic score and help define your strengths and weaknesses, but it will NOT help you to fix any of those weaknesses. To raise your scores, you have to learn the necessary Tactics and put in the proper practice and repetitions. The CAT will show you whether your studies are helping you to improve or not. In addition, the process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically shouldn't take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day.

Have you repeated practice exam 2 in the latest exam you gave and scored a 650?

The first three scores (350, 490, 620) are from Practice Exam 1.
The last score (650) is from Practice Exam 2.

So I have repeated the first exam three times as the first two results are not below the 600-threshold.

The first three scores (350, 490, 620) are from Practice Exam 1.

There might be a substantial improvement in your understanding and ability to crack the GMAT but the aforesaid trend cannot be inferred as an improvement by this magnitude. When you repeat an exam and even if you get "ONE" repeat question in your second attempt of the same practice exam then it can leave lots of biased noise in your final score.

VirinR
The last score (650) is from Practice Exam 2.

If you have scored a 650 on your first attempt without seeing even one repeat question in your 2nd practice exam then it reflects substantial improvement.

But after receiving the revised information regarding practice exam one, I would advise you to buy practice exams 3-6 and give the 3rd test under exam conditions without doing any of these questions beforehand. Once you get the revised score then report here. Maybe then the experts will be able to advise you in a better way.

All the best!
