recession can create people jobless in any country whether it is developed or undeveloped.
in Y2k , there was huge recession but were the lives sink at that time.
countless People lost job at that time

As mentioned in the topic, sentence correction doubt, I have asked this question from the grammar point of view. Because the phrase 'which the recession seems to be worsening' does not make sense to me.
Your help in explaining the phrase will be appreciated.
PS: this sentence is correct according to one of the leading GMAT tutor.
