The eastern European countries have huge financial problems, which the recession seems to be worsening.
Is this correct?
I assume the doubt is only about 'Which vs That'. Everything else seems okay to me. (If there's anything else thats bothering you, plz specify)
Now, i feel that this statement is correct as is.
Which is modifying
financial problems and adding extra information that is not essentially required to identify the noun.
Financial problems: Noun being modified by
whichWhich: Adding additional info regarding the noun-
the recession seems to be worseningHence, its an
non-essential modifier and hence
Which is okay. (You may refer to
MGMAT SC- Modifiers for more details)
Hope this helps
