Submitted my application on 31 Jan and I have already received confirmation mail from the college that they have received my recommendation letters and video response and I have send my GMAT and TOEFL scores on 31 Jan. Are they going to send any mail that my application is complete or still something is pending on my part ?

Is there any way to find out whether smeal has rcvd my Gmat/Toefl score..? i had submitted on 24th Jan.

I received a notification email from Smeal to confirm that they have already received my GMAT/IELTS score right after I had submitted application on 31Jan. I assume that it is an official way. Regarding your case, you should contact directly to Admission Committee.

Has anyone that interviewed recently heard anything back yet? I applied January 18th, got invited to interview a few days later and actually had my interview February 3rd.

I felt like the interview went well and I was just curious if I'll now have to wait until April 1st or if there is a chance I'll hear something soon.

Interviewed today with Stacey, and she was very nice!
It was a little hard to tell if the interview went well or not (so maybe that's a bad sign!), but we'll see soon enough.

It was a pretty conversational interview, but be prepared to go into the specific of your short term goals (e.g. what companies you're specifically interested in post-MBA). There were the basic MBA questions (why now? why Smeal? walk me through your resume) and a few less-common questions:

* Tell me about a team you were involved with where you failed, and what you learned
* What is a common misconception about you, and how do you overcome it
* What do you look for in building a team
* Tell me about your leadership style

My interview did actually last about 50 minutes, longer than any other MBA interview I've done.
She told me they will be rolling out decisions on or before April 1st, but I can contact them for an exception if I have other B-Schools that I need to give my decision to sooner.
Hope this helps anyone else interviewing with Smeal! :-D

FROM News Penn State: Tips for Applying to the Smeal MBA Program

We know that the application process can be a stressful time. In addition to the stress, each school has its own requirements which can make applying confusing. Below are some tips and tricks to keep in mind while applying to the MBA Program at the Smeal College of Business.

As you are completing the application through the Graduate School portal, remember to upload a copy of your official transcript. Should you be admitted, the Graduate School may then contact you with instructions on how to send the official transcripts directly to them.
When you list your self-reported scores in the application, please remember to also contact the testing agencies to request official scores be sent directly to the school. We cannot complete a review of your application without the official scores.
As you submit your essay and resume, you have the choice to either upload a document or enter in text manually. I would HIGHLY recommend that you choose to upload a document. You can then control the formatting and ensure the document looks the way you would prefer.
The MBA Program has a recommendation system that is separate from the Graduate School portal. To submit recommendations, you will need to create a login for our site here: https://php.smeal.psu.edu/mba/recommendation/index.php. We do require two recommendations, so remember to take care of that ahead of time.
Finally, we also have a video requirement that is separate from the Graduate School application portal. You will need to log into the Kira Talent website to complete this portion of the application: https://app.kiratalent.com/applicant/p645XP/instructions. You do have the ability to practice within the portal and we recommend that you take the time to do that. As you are completing the video, make sure you are in a quiet space and you are dressed professionally for the camera.

I hope these tips will help you as you complete the process and, as always, feel free to ask us if you have any questions as you work through the application!

Well I had my interview on 25 Feb, 2015. It was a nice experience.
My interview lasted for around 35 minutes and I was asked a total of over 14-15 behavioral questions.
Let's see how it goes. :-D
