"Applicants who were educated in countries where English is not the primary spoken language of daily life are required to take the TOEFL or IELTS, no matter the language used at their school. This includes applicants with degrees from multilingual countries such as India, Nigeria, Pakistan and others."

Link for this - https://www.anderson.ucla.edu/degrees/fu ... ents#toefl

Although I do qualify for a waiver under UCLA rules, I still took the IELTS to be on the safe side.

I understand from the instructions on website that TOEFL is waived if an applicant is has graduated from a University where medium of Instruction is English. For Applicants in India most would fit in this waiver criterion. Why then have so many of you written a TOEFL?
Do I need to write a TOEFL? Am i missing something?

I hope you did not submit your application without toefl? That would be sad.

Thankfully I am planning to submit in R2. For several schools such as UNC Kenan Flagler/McCombs/Simon, they do not mention India as an exception to the Waiver like in case of UCLA. However I think I will take TOEFL. I hope it does not require too much prep. GMAT has already taken all my stamina.

Has anyone of you taken any Admissions help/consultant? I see many successful applicants who have received Interview calls.
I am located in India. If someone from India can recommend ,from his/her experience, a reasonably priced consultant who can turnaround the application then I would be willing to hire one.

Seems like a LOT of Indians have heard back from Anderson. Not sure if I should lose hope at this point.

I'm giving it another week before I do. I've already lost hope at Yale, hoping UCLA surprises me this week

As far as I understoon there is no such thing as interview deadline here. I might be wrong but I think that the process will go on up to middle november for sure.

Last Year, I saw a guy from India who was not invited to interview in R1 but was waitlisted without interview. He eventually converted in subsequent rounds. I realize the anxiety is just going to be north of the wall:P but hope is never lost with UCLA :D

Lets keep our hopes high! :-) I see today no one has received any invite yet. It seems to be a slow start to the week.

Agree! I feel like Monday’s are never good interview invite days. Ad com hasn’t had a chance to meet yet so no invites go out...unless they send late in the day Monday.

Yes! And I had a brief call with a current few days back. He said UCLA scrutinizes the applications very minutely. Interview invites are more about knowing than selecting a candidate. I think this is also mentioned in their website. Lets see how far it goes!

What do you mean?
An interview (maybe except of Kellogg) is about knowing/talking to who they believe is right for the program. call it "knowing" the candidate or call it reassure they made the right choice when they selected someone based on his application. Of what I saw in previous years, especially in R1, the acceptance rate for interviewed candidates is pretty high.

Guys hi! I made a mistake. Yesterday I have found on their website that I had to submit my russian transcript with translation. And I only submitted official translation without official russian copy. What do you think I have to do now? Write them? Or wait until they write me?
