Hi all

I applied in R2 for Purdue

Scored 670 on the GMAT with a Q47, V35 AWA5 IR8

Interviewed about 3 weeks ago and received an offer today.

I am weighing up Purdue against Erasmus (Rotterdam Business School), wondering how quickly they release information on scholarships as I have to make a decision in about 2 weeks for Erasmus.

Also not sure whats better to study at, a European institution or American, torn between which one to choose.

Congrats on both admits! Its possible that you won’t have a Purdue response before that deadline. I would kindly let both Purdue and Rotterdam know of your timeline. In my experiences, open communication with schools is generally a good thing. Rott might provide an extension, and Purdue might expedite your offer.

My advice would be that it depends on where you want to live post-MBA. If you specifically want US, go to US school. Otherwise select the school where you feel you fit the best.

Hey guys. I am an Indian male. I wanted to ask how the evaluation process actually works...will I be evaluated within the entire cohort or just within the Indian applicants cohort . I mean to say will I be weighed against the entire applicant group or just the Indian applicants? Please respond

Are all the applicants who have received an admit interviewed? I read in the FAQs on krannert website that interview is not a requirement. So there are cases where the applicants are not required for an interview and directly receive an admit?

Short answer: both.

Business schools like diverse cohorts, so they tend to take certain numbers from each grouping to balance out the class.

Additionally, no 2 GMAT scores are the same. Someone who grew up in say Peru had to learn English as a second language, so their verbal score is likely to be lower than an American or Indian who grew up speaking English their entire lives. Ad Coms know this, so they typically evaluate similar candidates against each other.

You’re just about 2 weeks, which is about the time they start announcing offers. I’d bet you’ll hear something in the next 7-10 days.

That said, COVID might have slowed them down as well. Purdue (and all US schools) are having to adjust to online format for remainder of this semester. The entire country is closed down right now.

Hi guys, wanted to return here with my opinion on program status as I'm currently here in West Lafayette.

Since they announced plans to close the full-time MBA program, Krannert has descended into somewhat of a chaotic state. Dean Hummels does not seem concerned with masters students or the detrimental effects that the program closure announcement will have on our careers.

IMO, anyone considering Fall attendance at Krannert should revisit that decision and factor in the new information. If you have already accepted an offer, I would also consider renegotiating offers since Krannert has drastically changed their end of the deal, and it is very unlikely that the program & degree will carry the same value that it would have prior to the announced closure.

For context, I was given a full scholarship here, and the program closure announcement has made me wish I had not accepted it. IMO these negative effects will be far-reaching.
