Woohoo!!! just received interview invite for coming Sunday. Last mail was sent to me on 16th October but for some reason never delivered to me. I just now received confirmation from a Alumni.
Are all interview invites sent out ? or some more expected? Too tensed to think! :(

I just got an email from admissions committee, saying that they started processing my application.
So I don't think all invites are already out ! :)

That's my hope here :)

Anyway, waited so long for everything, so a little more won't hurt.

Since majority of the scholarships are merit based, what are the chances of securing one if your GMAT score is below average? Not much below average, about 10-15 points.

Still waiting here as well to have my application processed. I have a self-scheduled interview next week. I wonder if that has to do with the timing. Maybe they are waiting on the feedback for people who haveyet self-scheduled ints in order to assess their profiles all at once.

My status is also still awaiting materials, no email from Tuck yet.

I did my interview prior to submitting my application, don't know if anyone who are still waiting on their status did the same? Or has anyone who did their interview already received the confirmation email?

Does anyone know about the Diversity Conference? I was accepted to attend but my boyfriend was put on a "waitlist." I just found it odd that he has a way higher GMAT and GPA but was put on a waitlist.

I received the confirmation email and I did interview before deadline.
I thought they process materials by batch. so no need to worry about it.

I am not sure if doing an applicant-initiated interview was such a greta idea... Now there is no way of knowing whether they are interested in my profile or not! :?

Anyone else who did an applicant-initiated interview thinking the same?

BTW, my profile still says awaiting materials...

the same. I am not sure whether I did well.

I kept rethinking about the interview and thought I could have done better, I should have answered that question in that way....etc.

How much better in terms of GMAT/GRE does your score need to be in order to justify waiting until January?

Does anybody know how much more difficult it is to gain admission in January as opposed to November? I know the earlier the better but you also hear the addage "apply when you have the best app". That isn't entirely true because if your best app is R3, but almost all spots are filled, then it really doesn't how good your app is.

That isn't entirely true because if your best app is R3, but almost all spots are filled, then it really doesn't how good your app is.

After increasing my GMAT by 90 pts and taking my sweet time to submit R1 apps to Kellogg, Booth, and Wharton, I am confident I put my best foot forward with each. Now looking to Nov Round for Tuck, I am amazed at how much more I want to cram into my essays, and how having that one extra month to network with current students has enlivened the school's culture for me.

A good rule of thumb: if your test scores are within the 80% band, then a ding is less likely due to insufficient scores, and more likely a lacking of other aspects in an app. Consider a couple of cases:
1) 99th pct'l GMAT + unconvincing essays = DING
2) 9th pct'l GMAT + saving a continent from starvation using business savvy = A REAL SHOT AT ADMISSIONS (and a great excuse why scores are low: you were too busy saving a continent to study)

And, of course, the data:

FROM Tuck Admissions Blog: What I Learned on the NYC Marketing Trek

By Brian Cook T’17

Brian is from Washington, D.C. and attended Georgetown University for his undergraduate degree. Prior to Tuck, he worked for Teach For America as a corps member, an operations and finance director, and a national director in recruitment.

I chose Tuck because of the incredible individuals and the shared commitment to make this community one of the most dynamic places to learn and grow in the world. Beyond the sheer intelligence of my classmates, professors and community is a far more telling characteristic of what it means to choose Tuck. Tuckies, as we affectionately call one another, are invested in one another. This manifests in a variety of ways, but during the New York City Marketing Trek, I got to see the “network” come alive in two powerful moments during the trip.

On a very practical level, the trek revealed what people mean when they say, “Tuck thrives because of alumni responsiveness.” I appreciated the way that alumni from the various firms took time to provide tours of their offices, share their experiences and ensure that senior leadership from their firm gave us a truly strategic view of the major priorities of their organizations. One of the major highlights occurred on the last day of the trek when Vayner Media Director Kim Francis T’08 arranged a unique wine tasting and Q&A session with media mogul and founder, Gary Vaynerchuk. Gary shared dynamic, unfiltered thoughts about his path as a founder and investor, as well as about the role of social media disruption and the advent of big data on the marketing function and space over the foreseeable future. This level of exposure to, and intimacy with, CEOs and other senior level leaders added a dimension to the trek that Tuck’s close knit community is able to consistently deliver.

I must say, spending just a few days in New York really hammered home the difference in the speed of life in Hanover as opposed to New York City. On one of the first nights, Brooklyn Gin, a Tuck start-up, hosted our group for a Happy Hour at Madame Geneva. Tuck alums from L’Oreal, H&M, Pepsi, Unilever, and General Mills were in attendance. From the Happy Hour, small groups departed into the city for dinner and more conversation. Over dinner with a few classmates, we shared our aspirations, our values and our takeaways from the day. I appreciated most that what resonated with all of us was the idea that Tuck is providing us with not just access to great career prospects, but a community of people deeply committed to reflection and acceleration of your leadership. Even amidst the speed of the city, I felt, in the intimacy of our social outing, a bond that ties Tuckies together. The trek offered great insights into the marketing world and possible jobs out there, but more importantly the trip confirmed that regardless of the path I choose, I am sure am lucky to have this kind of network in my corner!
