I am not sure what 'Hermes Society' is. But connecting with an admissions fellow is definitely the best way to get in touch with current students.

The Hermes society is a group at Columbia that does outreach, and is there to help prospective students with questions, etc. They also participate in interviews if you do a NYC super day.
