Hi
trying.to.beat.gmat , I hate to ask this but mixed race - if white/Asian then upward pressure on GMAT; I might want for R2 but if black or hispanic R1. Less competition. This reallly does suck as a situation and thanks for alerting us about the GMAT rule for Wharton. I would honestly contact admissions with this and see if they might give you a hint. Play the hot cold game. if i should apply now say nothing haha. If you do apply R1 make sure to insert your GMAT in the optional. Your odds are better if they know your score is closer to the average. If you are half URM take the GRE and see how it comes out, they don't publish GRE so no impact on ranking. As long as they are assured you can do the math they will be attracted to any diversity offered. If you defer to R2 send me your CV I can give you some ideas.

Hi all,
I've just come out of a very difficult MBA application journey. For context, I have a severe learning disability that makes standardized testing very hard; I took the GMAT in 2017 and scored a 680 (Q44, V40, IR 8, AWA 6.0). I then took it again on the 6th of Sept. (last Friday) and came out with a 710 (Q48, V39, IR 8, AWA 6.0).
I was about to hit the submit button for Wharton, and had a message that said that they only accept GMAT scores up to the 2nd of September for Round 1.
My question is, should I submit in R1 with a 680 or R2 with a 710?
Important context
1. I'm a female mixed race candidate from Europe
2. I'm applying as a consultant (big 4 strategy arm e.g Strategy&, Monitor Deloitte)
3. I went to an Ivy league and studied a humanities subject - GPA of around 3.7
An additional important point is that I'm applying with my partner (MBB, 770 GMAT (lol), same uni) and he is pushing me to apply in R1 because most consultant spots fill up in R1 (an oversubscribed pool), my learning disability is part of my story (may explain the low 680 score...), and it would mean that we don't have timing issues.
How make or break is this 680 score for Wharton? Would really really appreciate any thoughts on this.
