Do not copy-paste your answers from other sources, as all the essays are scanned using plagiarism detection software.

The short question responses should be written in the space provided on the Duke MBA application form.

With this question, Fuqua wants to know your vision for your career. But before you start scribbling down random things, think like a big picture and brainstorm thoroughly. Tell them why your career goals are related to the combination of an MBA and your past experience and what you could do if you were given a chance to explore. Allow adcoms to see a different window about your personality in each story or information.

Tell them about your alternative plan, as this will show how realistic and flexible you are. Duke wants to know whether you believe that life is full of uncertainties and whether you have the strength to pull out from threats and grab a new opportunity. As you have very limited words to write an exceptional story, boil your plans down till they get a concrete statement.

25 Random Things About Yourself
You have already listed your post-mba goals, experiences, interest, and background in your resume, personal statement, and essays. But they want to know “you” beyond professional and academic achievements. This is the place to tell adcoms about your most compelling stories and make sure that you touch personal points as it will create belongingness, but those personal topics should be relevant to your Duke Fuqua application.
And most importantly, this essay is to bring your personality and values. Make sure you align your examples with Fuqua's values.
Before starting, you might think that you can easily write 25 points about yourself, but to be honest, it will be difficult after 12-13 points where you find yourself stuck. Therefore, take different routes that will give you the right perspectives you may not be aware of. Start your creative process by brainstorming with friends and family in this task. You can ask them to describe you and their feelings about your best qualities and skills. Then, ask them to share the first story that comes to mind about you. Jot down the points and create combinations that benchmark your personality in their minds. You could organize the list to build from shorter to longer items. Another idea is to alternate paragraphs of explanations with sets of one-sentence items.

Based on your understanding of the Fuqua culture, what are the three most meaningful ways you expect to engage and contribute to our community outside of the classroom? (Your response should be no more than 300 words.)
This is when adcoms openly test whether you have researched the school’s culture, community, values, approach, clubs, and so much about them. By this essay, you can reflect your personality and dedication by mentioning that you are a multifaceted individual who can add an interesting new element to the next incoming class and how you will be an asset to their institutions. With such a limited length, all points must be concise yet informative. You must be specific about why Fuqua is the right place for you.

See if there are any substantial gaps in your profile (for ex- low GPA/GMAT, low work-ex, gaps in work experience, etc.)
