Hi Jeremy

I have a question re your newest product: the Exam Pack 2. The description in my invoice tells that "GMATPrep® Exam Pack 2...includes two additional full-length computer adaptive practice exams with all-new questions and score report summaries to help you focus your efforts.".

I have taken Cat 5 and have encountered actually old and ancient gmat prep questions that available here on the GMAT club which means that they were released long ago in previous product issues. If you want I can attach screenshots and links to the respective GC threads.

Can you kindly comment please?

Thank you for reaching out. All of the questions should indeed be unique to this exam pack. So, if you found some that you feel are not, could you please send us some screenshots and links so we can follow up and make sure everything is set up properly and as intended?

Thanks,
Jeremy

yep sure

1. Permutation. I spotted one in quant though I have not rechecked the rest. Initially this question appeared on GC in 2008 a-certain-company-assigns-employees-to-offices-in-such-a-way-58187.html

2. CR 2006 unprecedented-industrial-growth-in-the-country-of-remo-has-36936.html

3. CR 2004 a-diet-high-in-saturated-fats-increases-a-person-s-risk-of-9902.html

4. Another CR 2008 five-years-ago-as-part-of-a-plan-to-encourage-citizens-of-63930.html

I am sure there are also other "not fresh" questions in the pool.

OfficialGMAT , I made another thread with the following query and was referred to this one for the official answer.

When you sends your scores to a school, does this give them access only to all your GMAT scores up until that point or to both your past and (potential) future scores?

Example: If a candidate has taken the GMAT once and sent the scores to 5 schools, then decides to take it again would he/she need to re-send the scores to those 5 schools again so that they receive his latest set of scores?

I'm basically trying to verify the information given in the following article as I've heard/read support for both answers.
https://www.mbamission.com/blog/2012/06/02/gmat-impact-how-does-sending-scores-really-work/

Basically the article says that after sending your scores to a school, they receive access to a score database which displays your entire scoring history, so if I took the test once and sent to School A, then took it a second time and didn't send to School A, School A would be able to see both scores as long as they checked after I took the test a second time. This means that I should send to 5X different schools, with X being the number of times I've sat the exam, and avoid paying any additional score report fees.

Thanks.

When you send your scores to a school, they receive the scores from the exam you sent, and the scores from any previous exams. If you take it again, after sending your scores, your new scores will not be sent to previously selected schools.

For example, if you tested in January and sent your scores to School A and School B, then tested again in March and sent your scores to School B and School C, the following would happen:

School A will only receive the January scores
School B will receive the January scores and then a new record with the March scores
School C will receive both the January and March scores

If you have any further questions regarding this, please contact socialmedia@mba.com.

Thanks,
Jeremy

OfficialGMAT how soon after my EXAM does the cancel score option appear on my mba.com page?

Also, how soon after my exam will my ESR be ready? I gave the exam today about 8 hours back, and then bought the ESR.

Thank you.

The ESR will be available within 48 hours of the exam. And the Cancel link usually displays within 1 or 2 hours of completing your GMAT exam. However, depending on your test center, it may take up to 24 hours in some cases. Please let me know if you have any trouble with either of these features.

Hi Jeremy,

I recently bought Exam Pack 1 (Exams 3 & 4) and Exam Pack 2 (Exams 5 & 6), along with the question set. ($117 approx)

I gave the two free exams that come with the software and they worked just fine. However, while giving Exam 3 from Exam Pack 1, my test crashed while I was midway through the Verbal section. I had no option but to restart the software and it showed me that Exam 3 and 4 have not been taken as yet. So now I am forced to take the exam again. (I am using a Mac and both my Mac software and the GMAT software are up-to-date)

Now I know that since I have finished an entire Quant section (Exam 3), there is a very good chance that I might see some of the questions again when I retake Exam 3, and I might see some new ones, since Exam 3 and 4 use the same question database. This effectively means that both Exam 3 and 4 are ruined, since I will be seeing a mix of new questions and repeats in each of the two exams. Thus, both my scores will not really be an indicator of what I can expect on test day.

It is well known that GMATPrep questions are by far, the most valuable in the market, in terms of relevance. However, it is no secret that all the official material is quite expensive. I am extremely disappointed with what has happened here, and honestly, I’m pretty sure there’s not much that can be done to help my case, except take the tests again. Either way, I felt obligated to raise awareness about the issue, while simultaneously hoping that you have some sort of system in place to placate a customer who has faced issues such as the one I have.

Moreover, I am sincerely hoping that I do not face these issues in Exam Pack 2 (Exams 5 & 6).

Awaiting your reply,
Deepak

I apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. There are no known bugs that would cause the software to crash. Unfortunately, if the practice test was not completed when you ended the session, a score will not generate. We do not have the ability to retrieve questions scores from a practice exam that has not been completed. You will have to retake the practice tests to receive a score. If you started with Exam 1, I would advise that you begin with Exam 2, so that you will not receive repeat questions. In most cases, this issue occurs because candidates may not be running the latest version of the GMATPrep software, v2.4.323. In order to use the Exam Packs, you must be running the latest version of the GMATPrep software. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact me directly at gmatprep@mba.com, I will gladly take a look into your issue.

Abdul

Dear all
I purchased GMAT Official Guide 2016 and Verbal Review 2016. I could use online materials of these books smoothly before. However, recently I cannot start it. I can make log in and select materials and mode, ie exam mode or practice mode. I can push start button. After that, standby screen, like attached a file, comes. However, exam or practice does not start. I waited more than few hours but standby screen did not change. I did log out and retried many times. But I faced same problem every time for both materials. My network environment is well. Please let me know how to solve this problem. Thanks

Hi,

I have one doubt regarding cancellation of scores.

If I cancel my score within 72 hours, I am aware that my cancelled score will not be there on my score report as per the recent changes. But mba site says that AWA scores are not included in this feature as they are not part of unofficial score. And further says that those score are reported on official score report sent to schools.

"Analytical Writing Assessment scores are not included in this feature since they are not included on unofficial score reports available immediately. These score are reported on official score reports delivered within 20 days of your exam." - content from site as I was not able to paste the screenshot.

This means that schools will get AWA scores for all my attempts and thus will get to know about my total number of attempts (coz then only, they can get AWA score score right?).

Please help me with this confusion.
Is it possible that I cancel my score my scores and school won't get to know at all that I took that attempt and thus won't get to know about my total number of attempts?

Your response will be very helpful.

Thanks.

Abdul can confirm, but this question is relatively straightforward.

I think you were looking at information about the score preview feature. You won't know your AWA score when (if) you cancel, and none of those scores will ever be visible to schools. Nor will schools get to know that you took the GMAT. And this will change only if you choose to reinstate a canceled score.

Thank you for your inquiry. There should be no question overlap between any of the 2 sets you've listed below. However, the free GMATPrep software includes two full length exams which combines your listed material for set 4 and 5, which are the same content. Also, we have not released the Question Pack 2 as of yet, currently the Question Pack 1 is the only Question Pack available on our mba.com store.
