I bought exam pack 1 from gmat prep. When I tried to activate the license key for the first time, it was taking a lot of time. Hence, I cancelled and reentered the key. I am now getting the message:" that license number is already in use". I have tried restarting the gmat prep application & my machine , license key is definitely not activated on my machine. I have also reinstalled the gmat prep app after uninstalling it completely and I am using the latest gmat prep software in my windows laptop.
No one is picking up the customer care phone.
I am planning to schedule test date in next 5 days. I need urgent assistance.

I apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced. Please ensure you are running the latest version the GMATPrep software, v2.4.323.

Please follow the directions listed below to resolve this issue:

1. Click “Settings” on the homepage of the GMATPrep software

2. Click on the “System Info” tab between the Settings and Installed Content tabs

3. Under “Licensing”, your Nalperion Licensing Service version should be 7.3.5.0, please either click Refresh or Repair depending on what option is shown for your machine. Once you’ve click Refresh or Repair, you should now be able to activate the Exam Packs/Question Pack successfully.

Regards,

Abdul

Dear Official Rep, Since no one on this forum helped me answer the following questions I am posting these here for you to assist me:

I seek your guidance regarding the following issues:

GMATPrep :-

1. If I intend to create a verbal practice set of 30 questions - 12 CR , 12 SC and 8 RC passages questions split between 2 passages how can i get this done? When i tried this, I observed that GMAT prep is using different passages for different questions.
2. If I want to create a practice set of a single passage with 3-4 questions how can i get this done? I tried to create a RC practice set with 3 "Medium" difficulty questions which resulted in 3 different passages being thrown at me!

Wiley - OG 2016

1. On the Wiley online question bank, is it possible to save as many sessions as possible? Neither their website nor their GMAC material mention about any limitations.
2. Can saved sessions be used without overlaps?
3. Similar to my question on GMATPrep, is it possible to create a mixed verbal practice set with only a selected number of passages? I don't want the system to throw around 5-6 passages for merely 6-7 questions rather I want them to putforth a passage based on which 3-4 questions are asked then move on to next passage. My intent is to create a verbal practice set that would simulate real GMATPrep CATs verbal section.

Hi GMAC Representative,

I purchased Question Pack 1, Exam pack 1 and Exam pack 2 and successfully installed on my computer. However within few days Question Pack 1 and Exam pack 2 got deactivated on their own. So I re entered the activation code to successfully activate the products again.

This scenario was repeated every time I restarted my PC. So I re installed GMAT Prep Software. But after re installation when I entered activation code then an error message popped up stating "The License Number has already been used".

Please note that
1) This installation was done on a single PC. No other computer was used to install/reinstall the product.
2) Exam Pack 1 is intact and there is no issue in accessing it. Only Question Pack 1 and Exam pack 2 are not working.

Please help.

Hi GMAC Representative,

Can you please tell me - how much time does one get to spend on the screen that pops up after the IR section (and the Quant section) asking whether you want to take the optional break? I believe this screen is not timed. Should I stay on this screen and ONLY click YES to the question - that I want to take a break, after the invigilator has arrived at my desk to escort me out?

The last time I appeared for this test, I clicked yes and then raised my hand for someone to come escort me out. This resulted in the break time beginning before the proctor had arrived at my desk (because I was afraid this screen will go away if I don't respond and quant will start right-away)....So I really would like to know how much time do I get after the IR section to click "yes" I want to take a break before the system automatically starts the Quant section. Hopefully this is clear, if not, I will be happy to elaborate/clarify. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

Hi OfficialGMAT

I am looking to do my GMAT exam soon in Australia. I have ADHD and have a legal prescription for ritalin, and will require several doses throughout the exam to operate at my usual level of performance (for work I take doses every couple of hours). Realistically I will need to take my doses just before walking into the exam for the AWA, and during each 8 minute break.

I would like to understand whether or not I am allowed to take my medication during breaks, at my locker. I have read conflicting information as to whether you are allowed to take medication, including some sources stating that if you are caught taking any form of medication, even painkillers, its ground for GMAC to revoke your score.

How strict is are GMAC regarding taking prescription medication throughout the breaks?

Thanks,

Natley

I have a question regarding the timing in GMAT Prep tests.
I see that the time taken for the Verbal section is shown in the review screen as 1:17:31, which is more than the allotted 75 minutes and I am sure I completed the test a few seconds before the end of the test.
Is is possible for the timer to exceed 75 minutes ?

Hi GMAC Official Representative,

I went to take GMAT test yesterday. However, due to a severe system snag I could not proceed with the whole of the test. When I was answering Question No. 10 of the Quantitative section, although I was selecting a radio button to answer the question, still on clicking the 'Next' button, a prompt was appearing stating that I cannot proceed without answering the question and simultaneously, the radio-button selection was getting deselected. This kept happening with each of the 5 answer choices and thus I was not allowed to proceed with the rest of the test.

I immediately brought this to the notice of the authority of the centre. They also could not do anything regarding this and reported an incident immediately with the case ID. They asked me to step out of the test room since there was no way to proceed with the rest of the test.

I called up the Customer Care Centre and they said that I will be notified withing next 3 days about the next steps to be taken.

Can you please let me know what steps are generally taken in this type of situation?

Also, since no score has been generated, will the selected 5 programs and colleges be notified anything at all?

Tentatively when shall I be re-scheduled to take the test again?

Please help! I have not yet received any reply of my email to the customer care of pearson

Hi GMAC Official,

I called the customer care regarding the incident and they are saying that the report says there was no technical snag. If I want to take the exam again, I will have to pay the whole amount. I told them that it was not me who reported the incident, it the Pearson centre authority who checked the issue I was facing and they reported it. In this situation how can it be possible that there was no technical snag. The Pearson centre authority only could not help me proceed with the test. They checked it themselves only. The customer care noted all these down in the Case ID and asked me to wait for some more days. But I am running out of time gradually. The deadlines for application are fast approaching. Please help. Please let me to know whom to approach and how.

Re: Question About a New Lifetime Limit Policy

Hello,

I have a question about a new lifetime limit that will take effect on December 17. I understand that there is an exception to the policy for a test taker who genuinely wants to take a 9th test.

I did send this week a request for an exception via the inquiry box in “Contact Us” section of the official GMAT site and has received the following response:

“Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the GMAT lifetime retake policy. We do understand that some candidates will need to take the GMAT more than 8 times. Therefore, we are allowing you to request an exception to this policy. A request for an exception can be raised with the supporting documents if a requirement has been made by the school you intend to join.”

Since I was not clear about the supporting documents required, I asked a follow-up question and received the following response:

“We would require a document on the letter head of the school, stating that they require you to take the GMAT exam again and an exception should be provided to you. Please send the documents by replying to this email address. “

However, I doubt that a business school will issue such a letter. Since this is about an exception to the general rule, I assume that the request will be considered on a case-by-case basis and the review process will be flexible taking into account relevant circumstances. Therefore, I am hoping that the kind of supporting documents required will not be rigid but can be flexible.

In my case, I applied to a top 10 US business school this fall but my application was rejected. I would like to re-apply next year with a higher GMAT score. My score was around the school’s average but my GPA was lower than the school’s average. I have been studying to take the GMAT test again in April and I am confident that I can gain a substantially higher score. As you may be aware, an applicant who has a lower GPA can often increase the likelihood of acceptance by showing a higher GMAT score than the school’s average.

My school does not provide a feedback to a declined applicant as it receives a large number of applications. Therefore, it will not issue the kind of the letter your PearsonVUE customer service representative described. However, I can send a document showing that I did apply this fall using a GMAT score from this year. I believe that it shows that I am not abusing the current test process. I’ve also filled in five school names each time I took a GMAT exam and my scores have been sent to them.

I’d appreciate it very much if you could provide some guidance in this matter for someone in a similar situation to mine. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Todd

I was ultimately allowed to re-take the test free of cost and this time I could complete it successfully. But in the official score report, my previous attempt has been marked as 'Cancelled'.
