It's generally known that admissions committee members go right to that, one of my clients got in touch with Michigan recently and they looked him that day.
I just want everyone to make sure they have a professional picture.. have completed a profile summary.. and that they're working on getting a good number of connections, 500 + is ideal.
It's not part of the official application but absolutely take it seriously. Adcom knows that recruiters look it up and so do fellow applicants.
I was recently listening to a call where someone who interviews for HBS says that she looks it up every time.

Posted from my mobile deviceI don't think having a Linkedin is necessary at all especially 500+ connections. Number of connections on linkedin is frankly unimportant.
