That can also be true; I have three years in my startup, heading business development with decent revenue this year while working full-time with multinationals and having cross-cultural experiences.

But I like to believe there is sky above sky and a person above person, there are people who experienced and got through much more than us, but as AWasey said we only need one seat - so keeping the hopes up!

If you are an Indian Male who haven’t applied to Duke in EA or R1 your profile needs to be more than a high GMAT/GRE. They have admitted good number of Indian candidates in the first 2 rounds. The rounds from here on is more to diversify the composition of the class.

So today I got an email confirming that I really did get an interview invite, and that it will come in the next 1-3 days. So that means that when I get the actual interview invite, it will be the 4th email I get about an interview:

1) Fake interview invite (Feb 1st)
2) Sorry about the mistake, but we really are going to send you a notification tomorrow to confirm that you are getting an interview (Feb 1st)
3) Here’s the real confirmation that you are getting an interview (Feb 2nd)

I also found that a bit annoying 😅 Even if you take away the error email it seems a bit much. I don’t get why they need to send an email to tell you you’re invited and then a separate one to schedule it.

Not completely true. I was waitlisted without an interview in R1 but got invited for an interview in R2.

I took Coursera business courses and MBAmath. I restructured my resume a bit and included updates. Wrote a personal statement which also included my experiences talking to the students, alumni and the adcom. Talked to a new recommender about my interest in Fuqua and requested him to send an email to the adcom discussing my interest in Fuqua. Also, I was in constant touch with my waitlist manager. I can’t pinpoint as to what exactly worked, was it one of these things or a combination of these things but showing an effort to improve your profile and keeping in touch with the school probably helped.
